Origi looks a real talent to be fair. I guess the reason why we're doing the deal now is because we've had our hand forced by his performances during the WC.

Apparently we may of signed Kevin Stewart from spurs? Never heard of him I remember them playing a youngish full back vs us under avb who was dire so I hope it isn't him

Barca president speaking earlier:

"I will say that we do have a lot of negotiations at an advanced stage, but people are at the World Cup so negotiations aren't all as far as we would like.

"But people are going to speculate about players that are at the World Cup and who we could sign but there's an awful lot of factors.

"Suarez is not a Barca player he's a Liverpool player so I can't speak about him. I can speak about what he did, to come out and apologise it is honourable."

People seem to be under the impression that Barcelona have been told by FIFA they have a case to get the ban reduced/lifted on appeal. So they're probably trying to get him at a knockdown price and then will appeal the ban after.

These negotiations might take a while if Liverpool won't budge from whatever his buyout is. Most places also reporting that Sanchez doesn't want to move to Liverpool, and prefers Arsenal, too.

Anyone thinking they'll be getting a knockdown price is a bit dim

Barcelona will certainly try it though, it won't be a straightforward deal.

Everyone seems resigned to him leaving, as if he's already gone, but if either side won't budge then he might well stay..?

Nothing under £40mil he still the top striker around and those don't come cheap. Barca know full well what they getting with Suarez.
Barca are good at getting bans reduced, look at their transfer ban and how that's going:p

Under 40 mil? Henry would be in stitches.

He could well do, if they don't offer what we like we have no reason to sell, if he was unhappy last year with not getting out I'll take that again this year

£40m (even with him serving his entire ban) is far too low, but I can see Barca hoping to get him for £65m~ or Sanchez+£35m~.

If his buyout is £80m and Liverpool won't take a penny less then he might stay.

I can't see where Liverpool get £80m from, surely that's what he's worth if he didn't have vampiric tendencies but the truth is he does.

£60m seems much more like it.

I can, they value the player on how much he's worth to them, I don't think its that difficult to see

They'd probably be better judges than people on here

He will not be staying. Just a matter of who blinks first now.

I can see why he would want arsenal, a team that fans expect to be in all competitions yet win none, then take a nice pay cheque.

Not mentioning that Suarez is what 27 yrs old now? Still got a couple good years left, but $80m? Liverpool would be laughing with that one, guess it makes up for Andy Carol :D

Soon as the WC finishes, bet there will be a ton of deals, mostly based off a couple good games.

and it will always be debatable how much that value is with the continued bad press he courts, and how that reflects on the club.

Given that this is now the 3rd time Liverpool have had to contend with bad press for this player (and defended him fully both times previously, understandably) - it isnt as clear cut as you appear to want to suggest

.

Presume you meant £ rather than $, Barca would be laughing if the latter (even with the ban)

Correct. US keyboard, I always forget which gets the pound symbol :(
Edit: Apparently it's Alt+0163 hence why I forget. £80m :D

If he scores lots of goals and he makes lots of money the club won't really care, they obviously dislike him missing fractions of the season (thankfully making up for it by never being injured).

I think it is pretty clear, LFC are in no need to sell and don't want to so they'll value him pretty highly and as much as they want.
