What games first got you into PC gaming ?

Space quest, police quest, then followed by the secret of monkey island. Started back in the late 80s, but was never really interested in games until my mid teens - but then lost interest as sports were more interesting.

I still love playing some of those old games though.

I'm desperate for a new decent adventure game (like monkey island and the lucasfilm games, or the sierra series).

Roadrash..

omg how could I miss this of my list!!!!

loved this game! fun racing! awesome sound track! hilarious real video cut scenes :D

miss using the grannies with zimmerframes as ramps :p

also remember that typing "spoons" I think in a race gave you full nitro boost :p

some crashes were just silly though.... sending you flying and having to run for ages to get back to the bike lol

Scorch - floppy disc
Theme Park
Constructor
Toonstruck
HOMM II
Dungeon Keeper I & II
Transport Tycoon
WC II
Diablo I & II
Hidden & Dangerous

Mostly in the 90's. Went to console in for a few years then started MMO's at uni. Big mistake.

Civ 2 with Duke Nukem 3d got me hooked. We used to use the college network for multi with Duke and it used to drive the admins crazy haha.

So long ago, it's hard to remember the orders. But here are some games I remember really enjoying in my earliest gaming days:

Lemmings
Castle Wolfenstein
Dune 2
Dune
Railroad Tycoon
Indianapolis 500

There was a helicoptor sim that I really liked too, but can't remember the name. You could have a flight of a few helicoptors I think with you controlling the lead, choosing from Apache, Blackhawk and a few others. As I remember, despite it being supposed to be the troop one I used to enjoy using the Blackhawk because of the number of weapon pylons it had.

Oh - I was forgetting the Space Quest games of course! Loved those at the time.

And (sorry) Leisure Suit Larry. :o
I was only 13 or something, it seemed titillating to me.

The original SimCity.

ohhh think deltaforce task force dagger was one of the early fps games I played multiplayer!

omg sooo much fun!!! king of the hill with a giant tower on top of the hill xD if you were pro (like me.... lol...) you could choose the all in one gun with the underslung nade launcher, sit at your base and then with a few test shots... find out where in the sky you had to aim to get your nades, the good few hundred yards arching path, into the windows of the tower xD **** tactic but I was young and a noob :p (not much has changed ;) )

think following this swat 3 got me into tactical online play, then bf2 really got the bonfire going :)

I got an Amiga (can't remember what model) when I was about 6 or 7. I had a megadrive at the time as well, so I played both. Then The PS One came out not long after and that was where I played most of my games. I then got a Windows PC when I was about 9 and I've played console and PC games since.

Had various home computers in the 80's (Dragon 32, Commodore 64, Amiga A500) but the first non home computer game I got into was Colossal Cave Adventure running on the Wang Word Processor network at the office, must be 1988 or 1989 I guess. I played a bit of Leaderboard and Alleycat as well. Me and a mate bought a copy of Monkey Island and played that at lunchtimes at work.
It was really Wolfenstein 3D and then Doom that gave me the bug of building my own PC back in 1992 or 1993 and I flogged my Amiga A500.

I'd say mainly the old school Lucasarts point and click adventures Monkey Island being the favorite originally until Full Throttle Came out I STILL WANT A SEQUEL Alas without Roy Conrad it'll not be the same :(!

First PC game I played (not C64 or BBC etc) was Doom, then Quake, Unreal really got me hooked and Halflife just ....well im amazed I got married and had kids :)

I remember having Counter Strike on about 20 floppy discs and having to install it every time I changed some thing on my PC ...just like now but every thing is bigger.
