What games first got you into PC gaming ?

Needed a PC to play championship manager 2.

Halflife first got me out of the cave after id done that for too long.

Grand Prix 2 and Red Alert got me into PC gaming specifically. I loved an Aladdin game on my pc before that but that wasn't really about it being a PC game.

..yes I know Red Alert was on PS1 too but I bet it sucked balls.

Thought i'd revisit Aladdin

I'd say mainly the old school Lucasarts point and click adventures Monkey Island being the favorite originally until Full Throttle Came out I STILL WANT A SEQUEL Alas without Roy Conrad it'll not be the same :(!
Oh man yes. Although it was Day of the Tentacle and Sam and Max for me. I think they came a fair bit after I was already hooked though.

What got me into PC gaming?

As in PC personal computer?

Never been out of it-

Vic-20 Best Game Donkey Kong
C64 Many good games Infiltrator springs to mind
Atari ST 520 Midwinter & sim city
Amiga 600 Elite and Millennium 2.2
Amiga 1200 Elite 2 and Zool
Pentium 233mmx POD and Blade runner

I do not know what it is but I hate consoles!

Oh - I was forgetting the Space Quest games of course! Loved those at the time.

And (sorry) Leisure Suit Larry. :o
I was only 13 or something, it seemed titillating to me.

The original SimCity.

Don't be ashamed. Leisure Suit Larry was the first game I played on my Amiga 500. I was about 11 at the time..:D

Sierra on-line just might be my all-time favourite game company. Maybe...

I've just thought of another LucasArts game that I played a lot:

For me what got me hooked on the concept of "PC" gaming was my Amstrad then my Amiga A600.

So for me:

Cannon Fodder
Desert Strike
Sensible Soccer
Body Blows
Alien
Settlers
etc etc etc

For PC it would have been:

Wolfienstien
Doom
Heretic
Rise of the Triad

Then:
Command and Conquer (when it was good, RIP Westwood)
Duke Nukem 3D
Quake
Total Annihilation
Red Alert

I remember playing Tomb Raider when I was young and not knowing what to do. Someone gave me Lego Rock Raiders for a birthday or something. To this day, it's still so much fun. It's legit a great game!

As for actual gaming I used to play TF2 on my trusty Dell laptop when it went F2P. I then started picking up more games from Steam. Nearly melted the poor thing playing Crysis (it actually performed really well!). Picked up Skyrim in a sale, too. It's playing on a non-gaming laptop that taught me a lot about PC gaming and computers in general; I had great fun optimising each game via .ini files and all that. It made me really appreciate my 580 when I built my current computer ~2 years ago

The original Doom. I remember hearing a friend playing it on his machine that had a Yamaha Midi expansion for his SoundBlaster and was the WHAOAOAO

went out the following day and bought the same card. wow what a difference to the music .

Well I initially loved DOOM and Chips Challenge. I then got into the Master System & then Mega Drive, and was a console gamer until mid PS3 era. I then started picking up games like Black and White and Half Life 2 for my cruddy laptop, and both games were awesome. I then bought a gaming PC in 2009, and then built my first gaming PC in 2011 :) I now play both console & PC.

I'd been playing games for years on the Atari ST before we got our first PC, but the games that got me hooked to the format when we got our first ever 486 DX/33 with 8MB RAM and Turbo button on the front were:

DOOM
Alone in the Dark 2
UFO: Enemy Unknown
Beneath a Steel Sky

Been addicted ever since.
