sounds like his agent or PSG is trying to drum up interest if anything Arsenal should actually be looking at him they still don't have a good out and out striker

Is Cavani really what United need? In my opinion they already have enough attacking talent in their roster - I'd think midfield and CB is where the quality needs to be added.

This transfer window is absolutely insane though - I look at my Arsenal side and if we do add Debuchy / Khedira or Bender then I'd say we have strengthened massively... yet I look at the business going on elsewhere and wonder if will even be enough.

Chelsea are pretty much complete now - perhaps one more striker to bring in for back up.
City are the finished article as long as they keep Yaya happy.
Liverpool have lost Saurez but have strengthened pretty much everywhere else.
Man Utd look like they are bracing for another assault on the top of the table - Shaw / Herrera already in the bag, potentially Vidal / Di Maria / Cavani?! - if any more signings come through that'll be an absolute fortune they've spent and under new management could see them being a force to be reckoned with.

The shoot out for a Top 4 finish this year is going to be insane.

Out of those teams I feel Chelsea are going to be insanely strong next year, especially if Costa hits the floor running. It's a great mix of power, pace and creativity.

It will absolutely break my heart to see Fabregas don the blue shirt for the first time, still massively butthurt about that :(

As am I.

In my entire life I've only bought two shirts with player names on the back - Bergkamp was one, Fabregas was the other.

I want to blame Cesc, I want to hate him for it - but the truth is we turned him down so its not his fault. Not going to make it any easier though.

I think the analogy I used at the time was "If seeing Van Persie in a Man Utd shirt was like seeing your ex with another man then seeing Cesc in a Chelsea shirt will be like seeing your one true love getting rogered by your worst enemy"

DM - I really question your knowledge of football and where you get your ideas from.

Have to completely disagree with getting shot of Rosicky. He's a brilliant player who always gives it his all in the match no matter what the scoreline is. A great asset to the club and I would be sad to see him go. Santi didn't have a great season last year but he was immense the season before so I'd like to keep him but wouldn't mind letting him go.

Not sure what you have against Gibbs because he's a quality left back that you seem to be blind to and even then, we have Monreal for cover and Vermaelen is perfectly capable at LB.

I'm not even going to comment on your Walcott, Giroud & Poldi statements because it's just grade A baloney.

I didn't actually even say if Rosicky was any good.

Current midfielders(including central and wide, so 5 positions to play for).

Sanchez, Podolski, Ox, Ramsey, Ozil, Wilshire, Arteta, Flamini, Walcott, Santi, Rosicky, Gnabry(played wide more than upfront).

EDIT:- narrow this down to the three attacking(think two holding or more defensively capable spots and AMC and two wide players). Then you have Sanchez, Podolski, Ox, Ramsey, Ozil, Wilshire(capable there but usually takes one of the two more defensive slots), Walcott, Santi, Rosicky, Gnabry...... for just the three positions, and Eisfeld/Toral/Campbell deserve chances there too. We have eleventy billion players who all want to play in one of those three positions. Good or not, like them or not, fit for the season or not, it's simply too many.

That is first team that I can think of, 12 players. Then you have Coquelin, Zelalem, Ryo, Campbell(potentially), Diaby(lol), Toral and Eisfeld who are either on the books but we should get rid of, deserve a genuine chance or could be good back up, another 6 players(lets exclude Diaby).

How many games is Rosicky going to get, against who? Why have next to no Arsenal youngsters come through in donkeys years. Because against say Norwich when Eisfeld and Zelalem should be getting games to help them become first team material, we play Rosicky and Santi, etc.

We have a billion midfielders, we're apparently going to get Khedira as it is. He should be sold anyway, but especially if we buy yet another midfielder who likes to burst forward in Khedira.

It's got nothing to do with like or not, he's so far down the line as to be more of a barrier to our youth players getting games than genuinely useful for the first team. Let him go somewhere and play 30+ games a year(if fit that long), he won't get more than 5 at Arsenal and I'd prefer Zelalem or Eisfeld get those games.

Santi, better player but same situation, and he's genuinely useless out wide, and since we bought Sanchez there is very little chance of him playing more than a handful of games that again should be given to our youngsters to get them to progress, if that is Ox or Eisfeld doesn't matter. Again let him go somewhere and play 30+ games in his preferred position.

Gibbs can't defend, AT ALL, watch any of the games against big teams and watch for his positioning, how he gets caught upfield and exploited over and over again, considering he has next to no offensive output, why is he getting caught up the pitch at all? Verm cover, great, if he was genuinely fit and reliable, he's not. Gibbs has been the biggest liability in every big game of the last two years, because he can't defend for ****.

From SSN:

Spanish daily AS are reporting that Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis will fly in to London this week to undertake a medical with Chelsea and complete his proposed 23million euros move to Stamford Bridge on a four-year deal.

Liverpool still really need a new FB and CB, I'm surprised we haven't heard more about new players for either position bar Moreno and Lovren. I also see we are being linked with Reus and Lakuku, will I hope that this is the case I highly doubt it.

I was absolutely pumped for the idea of signing Khedira - but I've recently stumbled across a whole assload of statistics that say Bender would be the much better fit, and is in fact far more of a complete midfielder. Now I'm feeling a little bit dubious about the whole thing especially if we are looking at a salary of 100k or more. I also agree with what DM said about adding to our overly crowded midfield ranks.

I think that we need to lose either Flamini or Arteta realistically, while keeping the other as a back up. I'd say we could look at shipping out Rosicky too but given we just signed him to a two year extension I can't see him going anywhere. Diaby needs to go - even if we just pay out his contract and send him on his way. I don't see where Cazorla or Oxland-Chamberlain are going to fit into things other than as back-ups for the first team.

Hoping that the Debuchy signing follows soon - that will address the problem of a first choice right back. In an ideal world we would look at a new left back also - but I can't really think of anybody that would be available without breaking the bank.

IIRC Bender has said he doesn't want to leave Germany for at least another year.

It will serve as yet another warning to the numbnuts that never think their players are going to move.

Recent numbnuts include BoomAM and his insistance that Shevchenko would never leave AC Milan, cm3872398759875 and Bale was another highlight :D

Come to Mama Vidal, come to Mama.

:D

:D

robbo will probably explode if /when it gets confirmed

I'm on the brink. :(

If I could have picked any midfielder (possibly player) in the world for us to sign it would have been Vidal. I think we've got Schweinsteiger down as a backup option.

There's too much in this for it to be just media speculation, I hope the club are just keeping it all very quiet until it's set to be announced. Now with the mega kit deal we won't be quite as worried about price, either.

The reliable Manchester journalists are all very much under the impression we're working on a deal, but haven't really run any articles focused on Vidal just yet.
