*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Right guys. I managed to smash my phone up good and have got a moto G to see me through.

Im thinking of buying another Nexus 5 with the same specs as the one i smashed.

My question is....could i reinstall the image that i made in recovery onto the new one?
I made the image the day before i smashed the nexus 5 to bits :(

No your IMEI will be wrong, Been on XDA before don't do it
 
One of my work colleagues "accidently" took my phone home with him yesterday. He's given it back to me today and I've noticed he's either dropped it or bashed it on something because the piece of glass which protects the camera is all cracked, it won't focus on anything because the cracks are that bad.

Is this a cheap repair and if so can somebody link me to a tutorial and a place where I can buy the spare bits? Thanks :)

I've got a pin on the lockscreen and he's thick as two short planks so there's no way he'd have managed to get into it. I came into work, put it down on the desk, went into the back office for literally 10 seconds to put my bag down and he'd walked off with it. By the time I realised he had it and I hadn't just misplaced it he was already gone. :rolleyes:

He said he thought it was his. Despite the fact he has some old Sony thing which is a lot smaller and heavier than mine. The real reason is he's just a **** who was probably trying to steal it.

Random question: Is there a way to install custom icons without using a launcher like Nova or whatever?
