*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Rather annoyingly I managed to crack the screen over the weekend (beer may have been responsible). More annoyingly I some how managed to crack the screen & leave the Spygen tempered glass screen protector intact????

Can anyone suggest a decent place to get it repaired?

EBay and fix yourself. Anything else would be cheaper to buy a new one and then sell your current one as damaged to offset the cost

My HTC One has developed the pink camera issue so I need to take it in to o2 and get it fixed under warranty, but I'm very tempted to grab myself a nexus 5 to use in the mean time and maybe just go with the full nexus experience/pure android in the long run.
Plus I'm doubting there will be a new nexus phone before October/November.

Surely there is a claim here..

How is everyones screens glass holding up? Mine has been perfect in the 2 months I've owned it, I've studied it and not one scratch on it, I don't use a screen protector either.

I'd usually scratched it by now, so I got to admit this Gorilla Glass 3 is good.

You can convert the HTC into an official Google phone

Don't have any scratches either and I too don't use any protection.

Only part of the phone that's not perfect is the edge at the bottom, where a few bits of grime have made their way between where the glass and side meet.

*much touching of wood*

(that's 2 almost unintentional innuendos posted)

Yeah mine done that as well but I got a really thin sewing needle to clean it and all is well.

Why does the emergency dialler look awesome, but the normal one looks absolutely awful?

The dailer looks much too like iOS 7 to me tbh.
I much prefer the look of the emergency dialler. Infact I prefer the older blue theme/text to the newer white one.

yeah i HATE and i mean ******* HATE the new dialer, it is the worst one i have ever used on android. the only thing they've done when designing the new dialer is think about the look, nothing else has been added. it's the same as the map apps, when it was first redesigned it had zero features but looked pretty, it's now good but the dialer app is still awful. i hate the fact that if you click a number say from your calendar it only takes you to the dialer, and then there is no way to add to contacts nor text. i have to copy and paste the number into those apps. it's ridiculous. also what's the point of the wasted space above the numbers. i've seen with L that space is used better but atm you just simply have a small dial pad for no reason

The space above shows your contacts that match the number as you enter it on the dialer. If the number you enter doesn't match a contact you get the "add to contacts" option. You can't message direct from the dialer, if I need to I just do it from the recent calls area of the dialer instead.

Anyone having issues with charging the battery?? My usage seems fine still and the battery lasts fine however now when I am charging it is taking forever. I've tried restarting the phone, charging whilst the phone is off, draining the battery to 0% and then charging all having no luck. any suggestions???

Also would buying one of those wireless chargers offer an alternative and fix the problem?
