Stem arrived from Wiggle, 3 x haribo for reference. Kiddies Mix made up of mainly jelly men, 2 x pack already eaten

Ive got my bike with me today, new stem could be fitted at lunch, only problem is no carbon paste! Does anyone have any magic witch doctor tricks or ways of getting round it? The new stem is 20mm shorter as spec'd by my bike fit. Love to try it on the commute

Smashed 8 strava PR's on my 18 mile commute to work this morning, not bad considering it was a spur of the moment ride (had my backpack on, bah) due to no trains running out of Nottingham when my train was due to leave!

Down 11kg as well in the past 3 months, 2kg more than the bike!

Excellent work on the PR's and weight loss.

I've just strava stalked you, that's a great commute route. You should do it more often.

I always have my backpack on when commuting, don't really notice it.

Cheers!

Yeah, it wasn't too bad having it on, might just need to get used to it :)

The route is very flat except the beginning, the 3 mile ride before the 15 mile on my strava, and even then that's not that bad :p

Good for getting my fitness up to a reasonable level before I try the hills!

Yeah I ride some of those roads fairly often, once you get out of Beeston and there's less traffic lights you can maintain a decent speed.

After some advice on Garmin 800 settings (the interface is awful!!!!!!). I recently created a route on Strava and downloaded it as a gpx file to the Garmin. When following the route, I expected that it would give me directions (left in 100m etc...), but I only got a map.

Does anyone know if it is possible to have the training page with ride stats (i.e speed, cadence, HR etc) with the directions/guidance as a pop-up when you're approaching a navigation point?

No you can have it so I beeps when you are coming up to a corner , I just have it as line on the to follow.

I then flick between screens for speed etc. you can set up training pages so it has what you want on each page.

Is anyone suffering from their feet swelling up in the heat and hurting when cycling? My right foot in particular is starting to ache. It usually does anyway, as I walk at a funny foot angle so my cleats are set up to account for it, but there is still a certain amount of "crushing pain" going on. But recently, in this heat, just doing 30 miles and my foot is hurting a bit. I figure its just a bit more swollen.

Oh well, going out for about 40 miles up and down the slopes in the Trough of Bowland tomorrow!

Any suggestions on helmet cams? I want to be able to read the number plate. A decent amount of storage would be nice too so I didn't have to remember to export stuff every night (I usually do about 40 miles of riding per day).

My 810 is set up to change from the page i am looking at - ie cadence, speed, etc etc - to a map page when i approach any junctions, and it tells me where to turn and how far....its been a while since i followed a map though, so i can't remember if it then reverts back automatically or if i have to reselect the page i want afterwards.

I have a garmin virb. Kind of heavy though to have strapped to your head for any amount of time, but it takes up to a 32gb micro sd card.

compatible with go pro mounts..

basically a go pro clone -;

I still want one but I'd need to attach it to my bike and I think it'd be a bit to shaky for it to work..

I'll have a look at that, cheers.

The Contour Roam 2 seems to be highly recommended too. It's a bit more than I was hoping to pay, especially as I wanted a forward and rear facing one :p Maybe I'll get something cheaper for the rear facing camera.

Hmmmm.. That is extremely cheap - could be a winner :)

I'll look at some reviews. It's a little bit clunky looking though - maybe I could mount a front facing one above my right ear and rear above my left and pretend I'm Micky Mouse...
