Just redeemed the survival pack but it didn't download anything? How do I check I've got it ? Been busy this weekend can't wait to play it again !
 
Now up to the "Hunters" section with the ration lines etc.

Grounded mode is punishing.. I've died close to 60 or 70 times so far over an 8 hour period lol

Taking my time.. patience is key.. I think.
 
seriously, cannot put this game down! i've even got the girlfriend hooked! (on the story, rather than the skull cracking/killing) :p incredible graphics, great sound and fun gameplay. coupled with an intense story.

just wondering how far i am? i'll put it in spoiler tags for anyone who hasnt got this far yet.


i've literally just got out of the sewers. the last part of that i had to turn the difficulty down as the clickers just kept on getting me. :D
 
Played this on the PS3 but never got on with it - I think it had a lot to do with the controller, never liked the PlayStation controllers.

I am quite tempted to pick-up a PS4 with this though - hopefully the controller problem should be a thing of the past.
 
I'm just about to do the part where
you get cut off from Ellie and the other bloke and get stuck with his son.
Remember this part being a right swine so I'm already terrified.
 
The only part of thought looked washed out was the
swimming section where you help Ellie across

Playing on Survivor and definitely finding it easier than my first normal play-through on PS3.
 
Played about 6hrs of this so far over the weekend, game is incredible on PS4. Best looking PS4 game to date, its probably the best PS4 game yet in fact, and its a port.
 
PS4 is the first Sony console I haven't bothered to buy at launch....Seriously regretting this decision now! I own Last of Us on PS3 and have completed it about 3 times but am still super jealous and want to play the PS4 version.

Also.....many noobs in this thread stuck early stages of the game on hard :o
P&P your PS4s to me along with the game and I'll show you the way. :p

It's a hard game! I am finding there's still a little too much ammo for my liking. Tried the level above Hard (can't remember what it's called) and got totally destroyed!

I'm still having nightmares after facing that first bloater in the school gym.
 
I'm a few hours in on my first ever run through. Playing it on Hard as recommended.

Game certainly does looks amazing, with really good voice acting and an interesting story/characters.

It's not difficult on Hard mode, I just lack the patience at times and just go too soon which is why I'm not usually into stealth games. 3 full mutated clickers in the area and there is little you can do to survive if spotted. I shot 1 in the head 4 times and it didn't drop...

AI is messed up like when your group just run in front of enemies and it's like they don't exist within the game until you yourself are spotted. Guess we haven't reached that level of detail quite yet - or maybe it's a design choice as I can imagine the stealthy parts being very annoying if the enemy AI could actually spot your team mates AI. lol

Overall though, very much enjoying the game.

I disagree. The AI has gotten me killed a few times. I'll be sneaking past a group of infected and one of them will start blasting away without a care in the world! I once had Ellie just run up and knife a guy completely unprovoked too, swear I don't remember her being this nuts. :mad:
 
i just love how satisfying bow head hits are. :D definitely my most favored weapon thus far. also the melee mod, where you put scissors on the end of your bat/2x4 is extremely handy.
 
As a first timer to the game, and now a good few hours in, this game is awesome but has some flaws.. The graphics are a mixed bag, character models being fantastic & environments just a bit too colourful for my tastes.

The environments themselves are very cramped when you have friendly AI in tow. Speaking of the AI, it's terrible. Enemies run around like headless chickens when they've spotted you & friendlies run around in plain sight, just generally getting in the way. I'd rather have the friendly AI hang back in cover at the start of an area tbh. I've also encountered more than one occasion of enemies floating around, usually down stairs?

It's unfortunate that these flaws take me 'out of the game' so to speak, as the story so far has been top notch. I just couldn't put the game down when I was playing the other day.. Despite the complaints above it's been the best original game I've played in years and I've not even finished it yet. :D
