ISIS and Islamic militants - discussion

You know muslims do unite, but against America or Israel or danish cartoon makers. But not against ISIS.

Sure they do, just look at the way they stood by Saddam , joining forces and battling the Americans, who would have thought the Americans would run with their tails between their legs, Same happened in Afghanistan and Libya.

Oh wait...that didnt happen and doesnt happen...if anything they sell each other out and let the Americans use their airbases to do airstrikes to kill the other muslims.

It boils down to Muslims don't condemn ISIS, but Christians do condemn child abuse in religious institutions.

Which is false, as the Vatican still refuse to hand over information pertaining to the abuse and continue to move abusers to different parishes in an attempt to protect them.

And is also false on the notion Muslims don't condemn ISIS's actions either. Not to mention the whole situation is a tad bit more complicated that some are trying to suggest.

oh and a question - who thinks Syria should have carried on using chemical weapons against ISIS? and would it have stopped them before now?

The means don't justify the ends (it's true more often than not). To believe otherwise is to be of the same mindset as ISIS themselves. In their minds they are just trying to spread Islam (by any means).

Why bring the Vatican into this? Are we still on the "two wrongs make right" path of argument?

Why can't you answer a single question without trying to deflect the criticism away from Islam towards other religions?

When the Vatican is accused of crimes, do you hear *anyone* saying, "It's OK for them to do this; ISIS murders people so the Pope can abuse kids - it's fine."

No. You don't. It's madness.

This isn't happening, honestly this is only occurring in your head ....

I literally don't know what you are on about.

What questions have you asked me?

Also, I'm not trying to deflect any blame or justify anything. I'm telling balky that he is wrong; the Pope and Vatican have not helped to condemn the child abusers in their ranks.

Apart from some UK muslims who have, you know, joined ISIS. And some German muslims who attacked a Yazidi protest on German streets.

Yeah, apart from them, I'm sure there are other muslims who don't approve. Except the ones who might approve but do so silently. The ones who might know their nephew is off to fight with ISIS but keep quiet about it.

The fact is, muslims don't do nearly enough to show that they are against extremism. And the muslims in this thread only want to attack the west and other religions, instead of uttering a single word of condemnation.

I don't understand the mentality of some people on here.

People who are speaking out against ISIS' actions are being vilified and branded Islamaphobes / racists.

It seems to be the 'in' thing at the moment... anyone who speaks out against Muslims (in this case extremist nutcases who warp Islamic teachings to beyond recognition) is a racist and wrong.

supporting evidence for your statement please.

or who`s own families know nothing till abused and brainwashed children run away:

The twins’ parents raised the alarm after finding the girls’ beds empty and their passports and clothes missing.

A former neighbour said the couple had been ‘quite strict’, and did not allow the girls to ‘mix with other children on the street’.

supporting evidence for your `fact` that muslims don't do nearly enough please.

no supporting evidence = its your own opinion.

This is not happening in reality.... in reality some are using the tragedies in Iraq to push their own agenda to smir all Muslims and come out with phobic remarks about how all Muslims are *#*#*#* or Islam is "insert derogatory remark". these people are being called out and right so vilified and branded Islamaphobes / racists. You know because they are, no one has any issues against people speaking out against ISIS, you since why would you.

Again that's not true, no body has any issue with you speaking out against ISIS.

It's hilarious. Thanks.

One day, when places like Birmingham are entirely off-limits to non-muslims, it'll stop being funny.

When the ideals of multiculturalism clash against the reality of segregation and division. When violence between insular and opposing communities becomes the everyday reality on Britain's streets. When that day comes I'm not sure there will be anything funny about it.

Let's face it, the idea that totally dis-similar cultures, beliefs, and moral codes can integrate is an absurd one. And the experiment of unrestricted multiculturalism is an utter failure.

Some cultures integrate better than others.

Some cultures do not integrate, will not integrate, and have every intention of keeping themselves separate from their hosts.
