Alien: Isolation Trailer

Picked it up the Ripley edition for £12.99 after a couple of trade ins of games I forgot were in my drawer. Can't wait after reading some of the posts in here
 
The reviews are so mixed on this game yet I would like to play it.. hopefully it will be in the bargain bin soon as it would be worth a shot for £20 I think.
 
Well I'll admit when I'm wrong. Definitely don't listen to reviews on this one as it's an absolutely incredible game. Graphics are incredible in places and the atmosphere is brilliant.

I'm normally not a fan of constantly having to stealth, but this game...it makes you want to be stealthy because you're so on edge, and not because you feel the game is forcing you to be stealthy.

I'm at the medical bay now and well....pants were nearly soiled
 
Finally started this last night, only got as far as being 'introduced' to the Alien for the first time and the tension is already incredible.

I'd agree with this. I'm also at the medical bay and I've not got very far. When the alien comes to visit... it's pretty damn smart - though when it came into a room I was in I just sat there motionless and it walked straight past me.

Then it ate me when I came out of a vent.

Those androids scare the bejeesus out of me. Well not scare, exactly - more like disturb me. I do not like them... not one little bit.

I love how atmospheric this game is.. when you know the Alien's somewhere around, banging around in the air vents... and the way the music changes to increase the tension - it's done so well!
 
So it appears that, like an idiot, I missed the medkit schematic on one of the first two missions, I've just gone into the transit for the start of mission 3, can I just hop back onto it when I next load it up and go and get it or have I missed it now?

Android + alien is a deadly combination, if an android grabs you at any point its pretty much a guaranteed death with the alien around as it will hear you struggle.
I was actually a bit peeved when I first saw the alien confront a synthetic and they both ignored each other, I hoped the alien would tear it apart. Androids are also fireproof, even though they burn which doesn't make much sense to me
The music is done well but I had to turn it down later on in the game as I couldn't locate enemies as well as I would have liked. If anyone else has this problem the option is there in the menu(this isn't destiny :p)

A tip for people playing this, I found it was safer to hide under a desk provided the alien can't view whatever you're under from the exposed sides. Lockers generally attract a bit too much attention, especially in smaller rooms. If you do hide in a locker, always hold your breath a lot longer than you think you need to. I played on normal, I don't know how much things change on hard.
 
No official rift at the moment but one of the guys on Tested channel on YouTube has done a xml hack and 2 hr gameplay while using it. PC of course... I would love to play this on PS4 with Morpheus.

i'm on the first mission to seal some hubs?

i've been trying to sneak around for 2 hours and the alien gets me everytime.
i'm playing as ripley (bonus content) is it harder doing it this way?

i've hid under desks' in box's, everything.

what am i doing wrong?
 
Deffo marmite. Do not like this game at all. And I thought I would. Just not enough action for my liking :( bummer. Looks great though! Buttttt..... I will complete it. Just got that tuner next to the elevator. No idea where to go now? Everyone's got guns, I have a hammer..

Do you have the option turned on where the alien hears sounds your Kinect picks up? It would be one of the options that appeared just before starting the game. That's the first thing that comes to mind as it would make the game a lot harder than it should be as it can pick up the sound of traffic and such outside as well as sounds in the room you're playing.

Seal the server hubs? You should have the flamethrower? So you can just blast the alien when it appears and leg it round the joint when he goes back up the vents.

Ah right, thanks! I sort of headed in the wrong direction, and to some gallery where 5 armed men were guarding a door. Needless to say I got my ass capped. :D

I thought this was a shooter, but it's more along the lines of a sneak/rpg/explorer.
