Alien: Isolation Trailer

Not sure. I think I've missed the stun baton in my play through. I only knew about it having seen someone on Twitch at the same location but they had it in the radial menu.

Have they sorted the choppy cutscene issue yet? Playing it on PC at the mo as it doesn't suffer from this bug.

It does annoy me with obvious issues like this, did a single dev not take the final game and play it on a standard PS4 or XB1 and not their dev kits and go "there's a bug with the cutscenes, we need to sort this as it's blatantly obvious there is a bug" ???

It's not like they can blame the hardware if it was a PC issue.

No nothing yet. They're yet to officially state they are actively working on resolving the issue asap.

Which is a real shame as I am loving the games atmosphere - except for the stuttering cutscenes! :(

If you have the stuttering issue on console http://forums.alienisolation.com/ The more people who complain about it the better.

And who wants that? ;)

You guys really must see this game on ultra wide displays to really get immersed into it. truly truly glorious. It's a shame you can't just plug in an ultra wide into a console and the console changes aspect ratio to cater to the new dimensions.

I noticed on some of the early levels that some barriers required ion torch or plasma torch or something to unblock, which you clearly don't have at the beginning. (Unless I have missed it!) Does this mean you can go back and forth between any of the areas as you wish?

Anyone like to comment on performance??.
I'm playing this on xbox one and now and again get a little stutter when going into new areas and free look movement feels a bit sluggish which I wouldn't expect even at 30FPS.

Edit: never mind, just found this article on performance clicky
It seems I should have ordered it for my PS4 as the Xbox one version is often dipping below 30 fps :(

I'd forgotten I ordered this via India and found it ready to play the other night. :) I only got 45 minutes or so of play and it is quite stressful - but for the wrong reasons. :(

The stuttering is a real disappointment and not acceptable, frankly.

I'm on the PS4 and the performance is good, cutscenes sometimes seem a bit choppy, but everything else is fine.

I'm about ~5 hours into the game now, is the alien going to be terrorising me for the rest of the game? This is probably the only game I've ever played where I haven't really bothered to explore, its just too much hassle, the alien always seems to be breathing down my neck.

Yeah, it looks like the alien can pop up at anytime.

The bugger won't leave me alone at all now I've got the flamethrower. The weapon has almost run out of fuel so I'm going to be in dire straits, I think.

I wasn't looking for spoilers but I think I can answer my own question now, it seems there are small sections where I can walk around without the threat of being murdered but maybe it's just because I play cautiously.
Funnily enough, locations with hostile humans and the threat of the alien are generally a lot safer than being in a location with just the alien, if anything it starts working for me at those points as it stays in the vents. I feel a little sorry for them after they start trying to shoot me, I just know they're all going to die after they have fired the first shot.

Got to the first encounter with the Alien, this game is brilliant. I'm playing it on the hardest difficulty, it's pretty scary! :)
