...weapon balance.

Honestly the people complaining about this patch, I wonder if they've actually played games before :/

I'm not complaining, I'm expressing frustrations because these are openly obvious balancing issues that should have been fixed during the beta or first couple of weeks post-release.

The range on auto-rifles and shotguns should be nerfed, not the damage. The scout rifle buff is pretty much perfect. However the Mythoclast nerf is just plain stupid. It is meant to be the best gun in the game by the very nature of how you obtain it. Fix the Atheon cheese method and reduce the drop rate. Now it hardly, if at all stands out from other exotics available.

Thanks to all the cheese methods/exploits, pretty much every man and his dog is either soloing Nightfall or VoG hard. I was expecting to grind/tune my gear and strats to be able to finally complete the hardest content, and obtain the best items. 5 weeks after release and I've completed VoG on both difficulities, completed Nightfall and running around with a whole host of exotics. Content is another can of worms I'll save for another day.

Besides, I actually love the game so *cough* this isn't a complaint per se.

Its more they arent that pretty and really if youve put some effort into the game to get to level 29, its likely you dont have only the Vanguard to get armour from.

Its just a quirk - Id rather get a perfect set through buying if I was waiting for raid stuff to drop - though Im not really that bothered about the race to level 30, luckily for me when that armour does drop Ive got the resources to fully upgrade it in the meanwhile...

Maybe aimed at me, i'm level 29 with queens stuff :)

Max out queens chest armour, will be replaced by exotic chest armour or raid. Just need to wait for the right part.

My setup is perfect for my gameplay, so no need to change something just for looks seems a complete waste. (at the time i was not level 2 to buy anything)

Never know, destiny may create a mode got to wear queens stuff.

It's hardly changed that much all you need to do is actually aim it now to get those higher damage hits, so it will mean an extra shot in PvP and with it's fire rate it makes very little difference. I'd agree with you if it was just the 34% damage reduction, but they've bumped the head shot multiplier by 25% to compensate, which is perfect because it now rewards people who can aim instead of just spamming the trigger and getting doubles and triples (then again the head shot hit boxes in this game are FAR too big).

I hope auto rifles haven't been hit too hard as they're just plain fun to use.

My issue is with one hit kill class skill, which are pretty much just 'i win' buttons. Nothing should kill in one hit - make them powerful and disruptive, sure, but not uber kill everything near by by pushing a button.

When it comes to balancing - presumably pistols and pulse rilfes need some love to - you see them as often as scout rifles in the crucible, which is never to never.

Yeah and thats what irks me about grind complaints - only just over a month in and I know people that hit the cap or technically can once raid armour drops. Thats amazingly quick IMO, do not disagree lack of (unique) content is an issue - foresaw a lot of these complaints from the beta, but the game is addictive...

Shots were fired everywhere dude - I can understand usage of the armour while getting to that level 24/25 hump, but personally I used it as a stop gap (on my Titan I had it until I could buy a chest piece) - I presume that was Bungie intentions. Spend some marks, theres no rainy day in Destiny, it was RNGed out :p (well some caves do have rain ;))

I hope they dont do anything that locks to armour - class items/emblems for sure though...

ps3udo...I really don't understand your argument?! It's quite bizarre

It's the same stats wise as the Vanguard Rank 3 stuff, so unless you're lucky enough to get a raid drop, which I haven't, then there's no better alternative. I have an exotic helm which I love so wouldn't replace that, and the Queens armour looks much better than anything else available (other than raid drops) so why wouldn't I use it? And I'm level 28

Its not really an argument just a preference - Id rather show off stuff Ive earnt not stuff that was given away (unless Ive lucked into something Exotic) - its irrelevant to me that they provide the same function.

Given how easy stuff is given to you in this game (other than raid stuff), I don't really think anyone is impressed by anything other than a couple of very rare exotics. Soloing some of those Queen missions is more impressive a feat than handing over 13 strange coins :p

You don't earn anything in this game, everything is random. The only thing that isn't random is things you've saved up for and bought with marks from grinding strikes / patrol missions / events.

But for every person you can find who says that saving marks is "earning" the item and people who have obtained it via drop are "lucky" you can find another person who will argue that by buying guaranteed items you're breaking the game by using a method that gives you guaranteed legendary and / or exotic gear, that the game shouldn't have if it was a "proper" mmo.

Just done the weekly Nightfall. It's stupidly easy using a void sniper rifle and utilising those spots. The walker tank won't even fire at you if you go over to the far left-hand side.

No different to getting a legendary running nightfall or weekly and equiping that....as the Queen missions did require a bounty to be completed and then a Very hard run to be complete after that......so was hardly "given away".

Yeah the queen missions were giving away legendaries considering you could reroll them at will to get the easy ones. Can't think of anything easier that gives you a guaranteed legendary item...

And yeah the queens bounties were a massive hurdle :p

:D In fairness nothing in this game is much of a hurdle....bar getting a random group together for VOG from Destiny LFG :p

Wow...

It's almost as if you've completely missed how much the game spoon feeds you legendaries and exotics the entire time as you were too busy focusing on your Queen mission hate.

There's a reason that nearly every level 25+ has at least 1 exotic armour and weapon, and legendaries in all the other slots. Because it's easy.

Whether it's doing a daily heroic and getting a legendary (I've had 5 legendary engrams from daily heroics since the crpytarch patch), getting to Vanguard Rank 3 which is usually done by level 20 anyway, doing patrols and killing level 2 mobs for engrams or just doing nightfalls, which are far too easy given the cheese spots now. All of them will give you legendary items at some point, yet you're complaining only about the Queens missions?

The Queen Bounty gave me a helm and a Chest that is really suited for my Pulse / Fusion Rifle Warlock. That was my first set of Legendaries before anything purple. Since getting it, the flood gate opened for weapons. It's almost like it was a trigger to start getting legendary stuff...

Well I think thats it really, Destiny has this extremes where some things are ridiculously easy (or were/have been made so) and some things are just down to RNG/harder tha . They should be/feel like they are unfairly out of reach

ps3ud0

Is there any real reason I should be bothering with PvE bounties every day now? (barring the hope of rolling an exotic) I'm now Vanguard 3 with both of my characters.

Should I now just focus on a daily public event, daily heroic, strikes, nightfall and try a raid?

Every level beyond level 3 will net you a guaranteed Legendary item.
(Different from Cryptarch's leveling)

Or you can join FWC, NM or DO to level them for their items.
