*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

not a lot of choice before chirstmas then i guess. i was hoping for project cars until that was pushed back.. :( looks like its gta5 again then. not necessarily a bad thing though. :D

No no no. There are loads of games coming out! Obviously it depends on what games you are into, but here are some (that should be) coming out before Xmas:

Lords Of The Fallen
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
Rocksmith 2014 Edition
Assassin's Creed Unity
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Far Cry 4
Grand Theft Auto V
MXGP: The Official Motocross Videogame
The Crew
Terraria

I wonder how many of these people who get games a few days before release that stream on Twitch etc will charge out to people to play the game early with that remote play thing.

I've got a PS4 backlog now so even if there weren't any games coming out before Christmas I would be fine. That said I've got GTA 5 and Inquisition preordered and I may let WWE bend me over again (though I always hope for the best).

lol, I see your point, however no I would not!

Yes, you really would.

You were also dismissing a feature you lack any actual knowledge of, highlighted by the fact you took a stab in the dark and suggested it was for just 30 mins. It's actually an hour and once that is up you can just start it again. Just stick to the Xbox One thread unless you want to try and act a little less fanboy.

Had GTA V on pre-order for a while, but now that I'm getting an Xbox One (just for FH2!), I can't decide which console to buy it for now...

The lack of driving games on PS4 has been a big disappointment.

Wait and see what the differences are, if any. Odds are that the PS4 version will be superior in some way though.

Erm doesn't ps4 install all games from physical media to the hdd? So buying digital or not, won't make much difference to the noise , only a few mins whilst it offloads data from the media.

Yes but it spins up the disc when you change game of turn the PS4 on. I don't like the noise. I just use downloaded games now and barely even notice my PS4 at all.

1) "Any actual knowledge" is a bit of a reach considering I understood what the service allowed and that it was time limited. Way to go Mr Exaggeration.

2) Fanboy? Nope, I own both and simply have an opinion which is better.

3) Why are you so aggressive towards me highlighting that this share play feature is potentially quite pointless?

4) Where are all the far more useful features/improvements such as quick resume (that was promised ages ago), dlna, GUI improvements, PSN stability?

5) Where are all of Sony's exclusives? Seems like nearly every one worth mentioning is due in 2015 / slipped to then. Whereas Microsoft have big exclusive titles all through Q4 and next year.

what upcoming game are people picking up next then? im torn between GTA5, which i've already completed on ps3.. or farcry4, i hated the second with a passion, and never played the third. Which one should i pick up?

unless there's anything better coming out in the next couple of months that i've missed?

If Farcry 4 is anything like 3 it will be one of the best games on the PS4 and a must buy

It's pretty much exactly FC3, with improvements by the looks of it.

more interesting location (to me at least), more unique wildlife and encounters with them - but otherwise more of the same, which is good.

Angryjoe picked up on the co-op being thinned out but that is 1 point where I completely disagree with him. FC3 had 4 player co-op but the missions were very generic and I found them quite boring overall.

FC4 simply dumps you in the open world together - that is much more fun to me. Shame we can't do story missions co-op but Just messing about i nthe open world is far more interesting to me.

Still not sure whether to buy it like as it'll just be 10-15 hours (less than a week if I'm not too busy) and then I'd never play it again.
I bought Shadow of Mordor but once again RM has lost a parcel I've sent back to Amazon (£30 worth too and they lost a £25 MM sale a couple of weeks back too).
I'm sure it must be theft or something at the local sorting depot - I can't be this unlucky.

Makes me worry about rentals too now - will have to start trailing all the way to the post office to get the damn proof of posting now.

These days anything of any value I send at MINIMUM with Recorded Delivery.

I have not had something of mine going out lost, ever.

Pioneer, you're well known as one of the very biggest fangirls on these forums. I'm not sure how you can even attempt to deny it with a straight face :p

At the moment, and I think this will be true for the next 6 months, I prefer the Xbox One (and yes, I have both).

1 - Better solid network
2 - Little things like the Home OS menu is more intuitive. When a game you start needs an update on the PS4 it just says in needs update and you go back to the Home screen. It took me a bit to realise you have to go to notification and update from there. As opposed to "Press A" to update on the XB1 while in the game and then it restarts itself.
3 - More features - Plex, DLNA, voice commands, via Kinect, the TV thing while playing if you want.
4 - I think the Friends list is better implemented, and how it shows you what your friends are up to, their achievements, it is more social
5 - The fact that my Harmony remote works on it. The PS4 doesn't. It means I am more likely to watch a Bluray on the XB1 than the PS4 now
6 - Ability to increase HDD space without opening it up.
7 - The USB cable that comes with the Play and Charge kit, I know you have to buy it separate, but the lead from the XB1 is like 9 feet. The lead came with the PS4 is like 3 feet or something. Little things matter!
8 - Xbox Smart Glass is a much better app than the PS app.

And let's not forgettnig the thumbsticks.

I am sure the PS4 will get there, but they need to get their act in gear because now that I have a choice between getting games on both consoles. I am going to buy it on the platform that is more fun to play and gives me the minimum hassle and problems. For the PS4, if they don't get the PSN up to the standard of XBL then I will solely get single players games on that and everything else on XB1.

I do like the size of the PS4, and don't have that massive power brick. And The Last of Us Remastered is awesome.
