** NEW GIGABYTE ULTRAFORCE 9xx SERIES LAPTOPS!! **

Atom,

Many thanks for your reply- I should note I'm really impressed by the level of support you and Gigabyte are providing here :)

Shame that you have ruled out the OcUK exclusive sku because as you rightly identify this is a really strong spec for stepping up £200 from the lower spec model.

I agree with you entirely there; my problem is simply that I'm getting older now and find that 3K on a 15'' screen is more than my aged eyes can cope with if I'm trying to do work stuff. Predominantly I'm looking for a power-house of a work laptop that I can use day-to-day, but with enough graphical grunt for me to relax to my favorite games when stuck in a hotel room - it's either that or raid the minibar! :)

I do appreciate this may not be the target market segment for these laptops however :)

Also, if I can get the spec you "desire" arranged with HQ before this, and get added to the range, then I will post to let you know. This is very likely we can do.

I'm certainly happy to hold fire for a few weeks on making a decision and see what HQ decide. Essentially if the P35X v3-CF2 had the 4860HQ I'd probably be sitting here screaming at you to take my money :) (.. although always good to see a few reviews first!)

Regards,
Lensy.

Hi aShtk,

1) - I guess with ODD and SSD - 2.45kg is probably right if 2.16 is without the ODD. Only grammes anyway, so small differences but I know this matters to some. Yes makes sense what you want to do with the machine.

2) The P34G V3 range will be black cover and black keyboard face - current V2 models have silver keyboard face, so this is a change.

3) - power supply being verified by HQ, I should get answers tomorrow.

Hope that helps a bit more ;-)

Regards,

Gigabyte UK NB Team

First of all I'd like to join Lensy and say that I'm really impressed by the support you provide, and therefore Gigabyte.

1) Thanks !

2) You get me a little bit confused here, because you said the black version would come for 2015. Does it mean there won't be any p34w v3 shipped before January ?

3) Awesome !

Thanks again

Hi Lensy,

Thanks for the show of appreciation :-) Just glad we can communicate so directly and be of service. Its important for us to know what people want, and also frustrating when it's not quite right for some! As they say, you cant please all of the people, all of the time...

But I am a perfectionist, so I do like to try !

Understand precisely about the screen resolution,,,, and also we try, through design, to make the laptops appealing to all consumers as we see big demand from professionals on the move, these units wont turn heads in a business meeting as they are subtle and discrete.

I will feedback to HQ and see if 4860HQ and standard FHD screen is something we can do, and come back to you as soon as I can,,,

For now, I think the mini-bars will have to take a bit more of a hammering! (but I don't expect to keep you waiting for long with the info)

Thanks again,

Regards,

Gigabyte UK NB Team

Just out of interest, what is it about the Intel Iris Pro 5200 that you require?

Require is a strong word, desire might be better :)

The Iris Pro comes with 128Mb of ram on-die, and Intel have actually engineered it as dedicated level 4 cache rather than purely assigning it to the graphics pipeline. Benchmarks have shown this can have a significant impact on CPU-bound workloads.

Hi guys,

My first post here, so hello everyone!

I am buying a gaming laptop soon. Deciding between Gigabyte P35W or X and MSI GS60. In my opinion the Gigabyte looks more balanced and future-proof as it is easier to upgrade, but a deal breaker for me is the screen. More exactly the panel type.

Atom80, can you please clarify if the P35W and/or P35X v3 have IPS panel?

After being used to use IPS on all my screens going back to anything which is not IPS...

Thanks!

As someone who's used both the Gigabyte P35K and an MSI GS70 i'd recommend the P35W. My P35K had an IPS screen and i'm pretty sure the P35W does too.

Thanks for your input. I really hope so!

In my opinion the MSI looks better aesthetically, but the fact that is basically non-upgradeable unless you completely tear it apart, doesn't make me happy.

Let's await for official confirmation that it has IPS in UK and Gigabyte has a customer more... (or two if we count my brother as he is looking for one for himself!)

hello,

Just wanted to ask is there any way to get Gigabyte P35w/x/g 970m GPU but with better CPU then i7-4710HQ ? is there any possibility?

Thank you

Hello again Atom80 !

Do you have some news concerning the power supply ?

You said that your p35 weighed about 2,1 kg, can you confirm that you don't have a 2,5" HDD installed ?

Thanks so much !
Bruno

Hey, I've heard of a massive month long delay that's just surfaced with one of the biggest resellers over in the US (Xotic PC). This won't affect Overclockers UK, right? ETA still next week? For the love of all the gods out there, please say yes!

Hi juusts,

At the moment the P35W v3 that comes with GTX970M are using i7-4710HQ. I have feedback your request to HQ though :) If there's any plan on this I will get you an update ;)

Thanks,

Thank you for your efforts, it really shows that you care ! :)

I'll wait for news from you and maybe some reviews will come soon as well :)

If that is the case Gigabyte has one sale! Is it confirmed then?

Atom80 confirmed here that the screen is the same as with the P35W v2. The reviews of that model (for example; here and here) state that it used an IPS display. 'Wide Viewing Angle display' is just another way to say 'IPS display'. On Gigabyte's website the 3K and 1080p screens have both been confirmed to be 'wide viewing angle displays' = both IPS. I'm 99.99% certain of this.

To be 100% certain I'd wait for Atom80's response, of course!
