AMD VSR against Nvidia DSR Review

I also wont be using it, in most games. and in the games I do i'll just be running 1440p DS... Beyond that performance starts to get demanding.

One thing though after seeing how much the AA level increase by just simply running higher res I after now laugh at anyone running 4k and still using AA

What's the point? I never used 4k Native but can you really still see jagged edges?
at 3200x1800 DS the AA level is unreal.. Not even 4k

Native 4k you can still see jaggies on some things if your really look for them but to be honest playing a game you cant see any.

I only use DSR for FSX and if I could be bothered to spend another month (maybe a slight exaggeration but you never know with FSX) tweaking I might end up back on SGSS.

Well in fairness, he does have a point. nVidia have had it out for quite a few months and AMD have had it out a day.

That wasn't what he said though, he said AMD copied, they quite clearly didn't as Orangey said they've been working on it longer.

Just because you dont like the facts doesnt mean its trolling. Its actually quite true.

It isn't a fact and it's certainly not true.

Maybe the fact they've been working on it longer is the reason it seems to be better so far in the few games tested.

I have no idea who has been working on it the longest bud and if AMD were working on it first, it is a pretty poor show if nVidia have beaten them by this amount of time.

Edit:

In fact, the Freesync thread also had this discussion and apparently AMD were working on Freesync long before nVidia (I don't know the facts) but nVidia have had it out over a year now and AMD still don't have a Freesync monitor on the shelves.

Pfft.

AMD running 3/4Gb stock over a year on the 79/290 series, bwaa bwaa Nvidia copied AMD, AMD was out first....:o

Think I'll throw that up every time 'were out first' gets put up...

Bwaa!!! I don't give a damn.:D

I found myself using VSR already, most of my Games are now running up-scaled to 2560x1440P, and some older games scaled up to 3200x1800P :) its given them a whole new look. :D

I would not have though it would have taken AMD or NV very long to develop anyway as all modern cards can display high resolutions, all the companies had to do was write a bit of software to shrink the images down.

Even Futuremark are halfway there with Firestrike Ultra 4K which is run off screen on both AMD and NV cards, it would not take much to pretty the onscreen image up a bit but that would be pointless in a synthetic benchmark.

Maybe Kaap and not something I know too much about. The fact remains that both have it and both seem to work well in games. It is all good for us consumers and I imagine some of my old favourites like FSX would look very good on either DSR/VSR. The only real difference at the mo is the amount of scaling (that I can tell) and the amount of cards supported.
