OK, so I've finally unlocked the bootloader, installed custom recovery and I'm now rooted as SuperSU is installed :) (does this leave me open to security issues?)

Also, did I need to root for flashing 5.01?

In the app you can enable/disable sleep mode, not sure if you can set it by time or if it's just a manual thing, I've not tried using it. Might be able to use tasker to disable it at night?

Sorted mate.
In settings you can set the times you dont want the light to come on (0100 - 0800 eg)

True it should tell you, but it's always been that way.

Going back a year, I always unlocked the bootloader before I did anything else. These days I don't as actually rooting isn't as necessary as it used to be for me.

Yup - PITA!

I've not lost anything of value but it is a pain, might as well do the whole not now!

So far I've got the bootloader unlocked, flashed the custom recovery disabled forced encryption. I think I just need to update to 5.0.1 and root then I'm done!

So from Google + I'm getting the impression this is how everyone's device behaves -

Surely that can't be right, with it randomly waking like that?

Finally on 5.0.1

For those of you on 5.0.1 (32GB devices), in settings>storage, what are you showing as 'Total Space'?

Mines showing 22.29GB, it was 25.94GB under 5.0?

(Edit: Just re-locked the bootloader and its gone back up to 25.98GB!)

For my random wake ups, it could be LightFlow. I hadn't realised it was installed, but as I touched my Nexus 5 to setup, it installed everything the N5 had...

Uninstalled now. Already seems better :)
