It really isnt any different though..

If you want it on vibrate then turn the VOL all the way down till its on vibrate.

If you want silent mode with no vibrate then simply click on NONE in the volume panel.

I don't really understand why people dont like it. Its basically the same with added controls.
 
I've had my Nexus 6 now as my DD for about a month. I'm actually on my second one as of yesterday due to the auto rotate just deciding to quit on my first one. Very odd but hey, stuff happens. Other than that I love this phone. It's my first pure google as I've always had samsung or LG as of the past few years.

It was between this and the LG G3 which a friend of mine has and I'm glad I made this choice :)

Not sure if I want to root this one though. Other than decrypting the phone from unlock what is the point these days? I used to root for better performance but I'm pretty happy with this so far.
 
Really tempted to go from my N5 to an N6, only problem is the actual size and the problems of using it one handed. Decision decisions
 
I ended up grabbing a stop gap phone, the moto g 4g, to keep me going on until the 810 phones are available.

I am absolutely staggered how smooth it is compared to the n6. The n6 loaded pages marginally faster but the responsiveness of the moto g compared to the n6 is startling, with the moto g having a smoother ui and experience.

I hope Google addresses this properly because there is no way their flagship phone for this year should be less smooth than an n5 and £115 payg phone.

you are kidding right?

I got rid of my 2014 moto g after two months because it was so laggy. In contrast, the n6 is smooth as silk

The best I could get from the moto was removing wallpapers, installing nova launcher and turning everything off (and then it was still a little laggy now and again)

I'm quite happy with the n6, I mean it's a dream to use, but the only slight niggle is the size. It's amazing for web, movies, music and the like, but as a day to day 'phone', it's just a little too big imho

I have a feeling in a few months I'll be selling it for the new HTC m9

I would disagree too. I found my Moto G 2013 smoother than my G 2014, which would be surprisingly laggy (the 2013 incredibly smooth).

I find my Nexus 6 buttery smooth. I still can't understand people unencrypting them to make them faster. Maybe there are a batch that have issues?

I've gone back to my Note 4 this week, mainly for battery, but do notice the little bits of lag here and there that just don't happen on the Nexus 6. (Having said that, I just re-applied the Xposed lag fix which I think has helped)

It's the smoothness of the N6 that's tempting me back.
 
I found the nexus 6 was really fast when given a task like loading a webpage but task switching or going back to the home screen was surprisingly unsmooth.

The moto g I have is the 2013 4g version and it is not as fast at discreet tasks but smoother in UI response.

My mum's n5 trumps them both. I was using the n6 back to back with the n5 when I stayed with parents over Christmas and it was much nicer to use IMHO.

It obviously isn't the n6 hardware but the current lolipop coding really hamstrings the n6's proper performance.

Example of n6 oddities were sliding across to access the Google now screen and homescreen redraws. Also the delays when pressing home and or task switcher keys were bizarre.

No it was encrypted; I thought 5.0.1 had solved many of the issues but back to back with the n5, the n6 was slower in some tasks and more jittery generally. Lollipop has caused all kinds of issues with older hardware and forced in encryption was a silly thing to do given the performance hit on the n6.

I don't have time to fiddle with phones anymore, I just use them out of the box hence not disabling encryption. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I was shocked at how smooth the moto g on kit kat is compared to n6 on lollipop.

At the moment the n6 is a slightly hamstrung giant phone but with solid hardware. I think this will improve as in the future foibles should be polished away and Google will integrate proper phablet features natively.
