What film did you watch last night?

The Great Gatsby. It was alright. Very stylish and good looking, though it didn't really lean into it hard enough for me, so it was a bit off putting. Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge both go much more all out on that front and you have no choice but to go with it. This felt torn between being over the top and being serious. Great acting, but it didn't quite grab me.

A Bittersweet Life - 7/10

Classic Korean Gangsta film, a little bit shallow in story, but well acted, with great style and good action

Deep Impact. I can't even remember when I last saw that movie. But it's clearly been a long time. Last 20mins and I was wiping my eyes non-stop. Talk about gut-wrenching.

Starred up... ermmm... 5. It's just another 'I'm a cockney and dead hard film innit'. I read in the reviews they the critics called it "realistic". If that film is a real depiction of what prison is like in England, OMG! I know where we are going wrong. Now come on... if someone brings in baby oil its quite obvious that want to prevent themselves from getting gripped.

Fury

Sure, the end battle may not be totally believable and I dunno about shells bouncing off tanks, (I'm not a WW2 expert) but I enjoyed this and it's gritty depiction.

Top Gun

Just picked it up on bluray and it's the first time I've got to see it in HD with beefy surround sound.
Still cheesy, still brilliant.
I enjoyed the **** out of it.

Birdman 8/10
Loved it, great story about a has been actor trying to get out of the shadow of an old role and overcome his demons.

Emma Stone, errrgghghghg.

For Your Eyes Only. It was ok. Some very impressive stunts, particularly the rock climbing at the end. I'm not sure what the point of the blonde ice skater was.
