Forget 34UM95, here's 34UC97! (CURVED 34")

Bailey is firing some rockets at LG management as we speak, so hopefully I might get some better results.

I am tempted to sell it and get a 4K replacement...

Check out the samsung va perhaps and wait for some reviews, thats what im doing after going through 2 34uc87's. not really much else choice when it comes to 21:9 and wanting to avoid bleed other than waiting 6 months or a year for new monitors which is too long for me

when is the freesync 21:9 due

Hi there

OcUK has being flexing its muscles again with the manufacturers.

Anyone who has bleed on their LG ultra-wide (NOT IPS GLOW), LG have now agreed to support any returns via OcUK and are also updating their own service representatives.

We have finally convinced them its an issue and that customers need to be kept happy, even though the UC97 seems to suffer far less than the UM95 did it is still a potential risk.

But at least OcUK have your back! :)

We have indeed got your back, all LG on-site warranties on these screens are dealt with efficiently, quickly and hassle free. OCUK can help if you have any issues though with LG.

Fantastic screens and fantastic service, what more do you need?

Any chance of something similar with the Dell (see post 345 on)?

A price drop to match the Dell ;):D

Zero chance on DELL and never will be, they give us zero support from every aspect, I'd rather not sell them. I only sell the products to offer a service to our customers.
The LG flies out, over 300 of them sold now, and the price has dropped to £899 from 989.

Really good to hear, is there any way that OcUK could sell a monitor that has already been checked not to have IPS glow.

I just don't want the hassle of buying some kit for nearly £1K only have to pay support "ping/pong".

I would glady pay for that privilidge.

Thanks

Very much this...

I agree, would buy one right now if OCUK would do a little check on this bleed and glow issue and get a solid screen shipped to me. Would pay a little extra for it to avoid hassle. Basically help me to give my money to you!

Also on the cable front.....consider me a complete noob on this side of things. What kind of cable should I be using to connect this monitor?

I have 2 x 7850. Mini displayport? HDMI? VGA? RGB? (last two were a joke btw :) )

Also is the only difference between 34UC87 vs 34UC97 the monitor stand? Struggling to work out the difference, can a stand really justify an extra £100 :p

I sent them a snotty email with some more pictures, it took them two days but they've arranged to collect the monitor next Friday. I can't remember the turnaround but I have a spare Dell 27" so I'm not too fussed.

It's amazing that these and the 34UM95 still have a strong % of bad backlight bleed versions. It's actually quite sad to see it still not being resolved at a factory level :/

so, tempted to pick up one of these for work but might also game on them.

is the backlight bleed still a horrible lottery or is the problem less prevalent on this curved version?

obviously it's dropped into the this week only deals which has perked my interest up a little bit more.

It is a lottery but it seems OCUK have your back:
