Retro console and games thread

Had a great day out at the charity shops, beat the competion to this lot by about 30 seconds just scooped the lot up lol he later approched me outside to ask if i was selling them or keeping them all £2 each and immaculate so very pleased.

Holy ****!

£2 each for those, nice mate.

Guys after some advice

I have a copy of the same game listed in this auction:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-The-...ideo_Games_Video_Games_JS&hash=item2a4bb6ee98

But in slightly better nic (secret code still sealed etc)

Any idea of its actual worth to a collector? I listed it on a Facebook group but they are all a bunch of quibbling girls so got frustrated with them!

Have quite a few more boxed goodies that I am looking to let go too but this is the main one i was after a price on.

Thanks in advance!

Looking to sell both of my Megadrive and PS1 collection funnily enough to fund my Nintendo obsession, I have an old Sony trinitron but most people recommend JVC monitors.

Only really interested in a TV.

I'm interested in replacing consoles I originally owned on a like for like basis.

So that would be an original UK launch PlayStation, boxed with all the original in box items. Including the original demo disk, which I remember as having a playable demo of Toshinden and Loaded.

If you can find one close enough to you to collect (unlikely they'll ship) the Panasonic PD30 is well regarded in the retro world. :)

Today's deliveries! Amstrad disks and tapes

They are free of charge too... pics to follow :o

Any CRT TV recommendations?

Looking at getting back into older consoles. Probably Megadrive and Playstation 1 to start with.

id just go for the latest 4:3 trinitron you can get. if your looking to play consoles ps1 and older. Stay away from the wega's as they add processing to the image which can make it look worse.

Finally got off my butt and did some work on my UGC's (Universal Game Case).

Decided to go with USA artwork in the end, since I didn't fancy spending hours in Photoshop making my own covers.

Got a **** ton of more cases coming as well, still got about 6 more SNES to do, then I'm thinking of doing my Mega Drive collection as well. Gonna be a lot of work, but should look pretty neat when it's done.

Kudos for your efforts! That's pretty nifty.

Hi,

Got to contribute with my "retro station" consisting of a NES, SNES, Megadrive, Master system module, Dreamcast, Amiga, Notebook PC for retro games, C64, PC-engine DUO-R.

All connected via Scart boxes to a Bang&Olufsen 21" TV. Superb picture quality.
And a Swedish ACE-bas sub for the lower frequences :)
And lots of good games, mainly RPG´s.

That is super, gronbek. :D

Well since CRT TV's go for nothing these days, you could probably pick up a nice Bang & Olufsen. :D We used to have one, a "flat" CRT, one of the first widescreens I think, the remote control was made out of a block of metal, you could do some serious damage with it. But it was a great set. :)

Otherwise as others have said, something more "mainstream" like a Trinitron, those things seem to live forever. You could probably use an old CRT PC monitor and some adapters, as an alternative. :)

I've been watching a lot of Bang & Olufsen TV's on eBay for a while. Missed out in one a few weeks back because I forgot to bid.

Spectrum stuff got dropped off last night, the +2 is battered to death so will be scrap/spare parts but the +3 powers up just fine.

The Audio connector seems like it melted though.. got to take that apart and look at it, plus the keys are soooo gritty. Taking that apart to try and get what I think is concrete dust out from where it was stored.

Picture below, rubbish phone quality so I left them large in case you want to read the game names :o

Some great games theres, hate to think how much money I spent on Wrestlefest and TMNT :D.

Edit - Got any pics of the actual boards? Bit nerdy but I love seeing that sort of stuff ;).
Also the inside of your cab setup.

I have Aliens and 1942 coming so I'll also take photos of the PCBs.
