Not set in stone yet but I will know about halfway through April (it depends on a project rollout).

Also, if Eurostar refuse to take my bike I will need to borrow one (I've definitely got a loaner for August, not sure if I can borrow it in june too)!

I can definitely get a spare one sorted assuming you're not massively short or anything (I'm 6'1'' with slightly long arms/legs). It might not be the best spec though :p

Obviously the closer we get to the period the more likely I'll be booked up myself but I'll definitely try to keep things clear.

I'll stop filling this thread up now anyhow.

edit: I've taken my bike via Eurostar from Paris previously and they were pretty good about it btw. I did drop it off the night before I was travelling though as I didn't want to wait around in London if they happened to be a bit slow.

I only rode up box hill once.. with my triban 3, in big ring because it wouldn't switch down lol.
 
It's quite easy to get in Coldharbour, Leith, Whitedown, Ranmore and Box. Possibly add in others like Staple Ln, Crocknorth, Newlands Corner and Coombe Ln.

Barhatch lane too if people are feeling sadistic!
 
something like RP -> box hill -> back would be quite good imo, would work out at around 80ish miles - that's including my ride to RP.

as far as timings go, I'll be around most weekends so a week in advance is max I need really.

Box Hill should be taken in the big ring, especially the top section.

If we can do Coombe Lane and Crocknorth then that would make me very happy indeed.

yeah I was a bit disappointed after riding up it haha :D I could have got a better time but I didn't know what to expect so played it safe ha.

It's because it get steeper as you go on.

Hmmm. How are would folks want to go?

At the moment the routes I'm looking at all tend to go out to Send and then come in up Newlands and then take either Coombe Lane and Crocknorth or Whitedown up to Ranmore Common before heading over to Box Hill.
 
It'll hopefully be nicer/warmer when we do the ride and as it's not something that will happen often I say make a day of it.

A ride from SW London to Boxhill and back is simply leg work to get out of London only to skip the best riding in Surrey. I quite like this route, enough in the way of hills but on a good day can be quite pacey.

I'm sure the rest of you know the hills and routes better than I do though, so open to suggestions. Would be good to come along though. My only suggestion is that it would be incredibly rude not to convene for a few beers afterwards. Could I suggest Brewdog close to Clapham Junction!?
 
It was nice of them to add an extra 100m to the top of Box Hill for your second pass.

As for beers; RP, Kingston and Esher are as close as I'll get to London on a weekend. If I ride back into Clapham then I've got 15 miles home after that.
