*** The Official Bloodborne Thread ***

I use R2 attacks a lot lol. They one hit a lot of the mobs I come up against if you time it right and the ones that don't get one hit I usually do a r2 r1 r1 combo. I also rarely use the smaller form. I was using the Kirkhammer for along time and just upgraded to ludwigs holy blade.

Simple question:

I have only played Demons Souls on PS3, I reached one of the last bosses, but went back in the game to grind as he made mincemeat of me :) Then the PS4 came along and I haven't turned on the PS3 since (I'm too lazy to swap back even though I have some unfinished games on it!)

I liked the game a lot and found the difficulty just right. I also liked the grinding to improve stats/weapons etc (in the sense you can go back in the game in a free roam kind of way).

Will I enjoy this? Should I pick up Dark Souls (I think 2 is on the PS4) first?
(Or will they just drop the digital price of GTAV in a PSN sale and I can buy that instead :D )

zoomee doin it wrong: - this game needs more instructions lol!

Spent the past half hour trying to fist fight the first wolfy - I did quite well considering!

Then someone told me how to equip weapons - roflmao /epic fail

What weapons did you choose on first go?

I got the axe and pistol, axe is immense!

I started with cane and blunder, I'd avoided reading anything about the game before I started, if I had I'd not have chosen the cane  the guides I've glanced at seem to suggest cane is something for a second play through.

Restarted with sword and pistols but haven't really done much since the restart.

Oh great that's what I chose. That's what I hate about these games, you shouldn't be punished for choosing a weapon you know nothing about.
I just dressed up the Stump messengers. I presume that has some effect that I'll only know about by reading a guide?

You can buy all the weapons in town... It's not a big deal if you don't like your starting weapon.

The vendor had no weapons available thats the reason I restarted, plus I'd not beaten the first boss so its not like I've lost much progress.

Ah ok. Currently exploring very slowly. Killed 3 enemies in central area and lost loads of health but I'm really soaking up the atmosphere.

I'd go back and beat Demon's Souls at some point.

Dark Souls I would play over Dark Souls 2

Yes you should like this, depending on your playstyle in Demon's you may have to play quite a bit differently (if you used sword+shield or magic). Its a lot faster paced but essentially very similar.

I'm not that far in but Demon's Souls=Dark Souls>Dark Souls 2, at the moment Bloodborne is above Dark Souls 2 for me as well so I wouldn't really recommend it when the others are available for cheaper

You just needed to have 1 insight I believe or to have killed the first boss.

I had 2 insight so it must be kill first boss which is what I was struggling with due to the cane, the Cleaver is a different world, I'm slicing through enemies with ease.

I appear to have 5 blood vials that I presume are health potions but I don't see how to use them as they don't appear as consumables in my inventory.

Was struggling to begin with then managed to take the first boss down on my third try, mistakenly walked into the 2nd boss Gasgoine(sp?) and one shot him. I'm getting used to the dodging and timing attacks now, although popped around 8-10 hp pots in the boss fights and the odd random one every now and again walking around with 15-20 of them always.

Blood vials are used by pressing triangle and recover health.

Pressing up on the d pad swaps some of your life for 5 "blood bullets" which don't get added to your silver bullets but sit below them as a "+5".
