Over 15 insight is the first tier where things change. Enemies gain new abilities at this point.

So if you have 15 then get to say 16 and then spend one on resonating bell. Does this cancel out their new abilities?

Just done a quick bit of reading and it appears Insight does indeed make things harder. At 15 Insight some enemies will gain new abilities. Dropping back to 14 Insight will revert the enemies back to normal.

It appears to be done as a sort of automatic difficulty setting. If you're breezing through the game you'll amass a lot of Insight quickly. Buffing the enemies will make things more of a challenge for you. Seems like a great idea to me. I think I have around 8 Insight currently with at least 4-5 consumables on me. Might look to spend a little at the Insight bath in the Dream.

yes its true iv been reading about it myself too as I noticed it first when I went over 15 insight. The more you get the harder things get. At the moment im about level 54 and I have over 40 insight and things seem a lot harder but also the more insight you get the more blood echoes you get and also it feels like im getting more item drops than I did at a lower level of insight. Could be wrong about the items but it feels that way.

Like I said, in DS Humanity (the rough equivalent to Insight) would improve drop rates, as well as give you a boost to certain stats like poison resist. I'd imagine the same applies here.

Almost cleared out a chalice dungeon, just having a little trouble with the Watchdog boss but I know what his weaknesses are, so it shouldn't be too much trouble now.

The chalice dungeons remind me of island area of Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen, even though they're far less detailed it's still pretty eerie and intimidating.

I've also fallen in love with the Stake Driver, it's absolute beast now that I've upgraded it a little.

So insight, the more you have past 15 the more vitals the enemies have but you potentially get more drops?

So in theory its a trade off for more drops against enemies with better stats?

I'm currently at around 8 insight with one madman soul thingy I picked up in the sewer's on my path towards farther Gascoigne..

I want the Stake Driver, just need to beat it's owner before I can buy it I believe. He's whupping me currently but I'll get him.

I wore him down with some poison knives then pounced on him when he tried to heal, he was still quite a challenge though :p

That guy jumped off the building in about 3 seconds for me LOL whipped him with the cane once, then he dodged to the right twice during my next attack animation and he flew off. Does he drop anything? D:

If you go back there should be a hunter's badge there, it let's you buy the Stake Driver and an armor set if I remember rightly

I'm nowhere near levelled enough to take him head on, so I'm trying to knock his ass off the ledge :D

i did him last night, as soon as i got to the top i charged at him and he feel off :)

but then his item got stuck out of reach down below! however similar happened in dark souls 1 so i reloaded my save and the item appeared back at the top :)

I didnt realise all the above about insight! Currently running round with 25! So its best to spend it then even if you dont need anything? Or is there a gain in not spending?

Been playing this today for about 2 hours. Not sure if this is for me. I don't mind dying, but I'm spending more time on the loading screen than playing the game. The loading screens are crazy long for a game where you're expected to die a lot.

The loading is most people only gripe with the game however a patch is in the works, not sure how effective it will be but anything is better

Tbh it hasnt concerned me yet

Finally explored the first area fully and reached the Cleric boss. He beat me, but I was not really stocked up for the fight and still got him down to 50% health before running out of vials. Lost 4000 souls as I didn't realise I had reached the boss and the path back was fogged out :(

I think I could beat him easily after a tiny bit more farming and maybe levelling up my Cane.

Earlier on my weapon broke! I forgot your weapon gets weaker over time (like in Demons Souls). Got to remember to fix it each visit to the Hunters Dream, as it makes a huge difference.
