Man, could have just removed from ps4 and shelved until you got round to selling. Shame. Guess your temper got the better as I admit this game does frustrate.

I expected to throw my controller but worse I've done is swear and I did punch my sofa lol.

That's what the wife said to me earlier yesterday when she walked in and I was playing this for the first time. "So is this that super-hard game you were talking about?", "Yep", "... so you're gonna be punching the sofa in a bit then?"

It's my signature move.

Anyway... started it yesterday, downed the Cleric Beast on the third try last night and cleared all the enemies on the way to Father Gascoigne. Carrying over 5k blood echoes, so I decided to head back to the lantern after opening the shortcut so I could level a bit before facing him... and got killed by a dude with a torch. My own damned fault.

Then the werewolves on the bridge downed me on the way back to get the echoes again. All lost.

Played it a bit more earlier and managed to farm enough to level up again and fortify my weapon once more... so I'll be heading for Gascoigne later. Really enjoying the game so far -- though it's become obvious that locking on to bosses or the larger enemies is a really bad idea.

I was pulling my hair out at blood starved beast, not found the game overly challenging until that point, but everytime he would trash me and I ran out of antidotes. I rang the bell for the first time and some chap came into my game and we killed him no worries.

Yahar'gul unseen village and the 3 hunters solo was just horrible

about to take on darkbeast, should be easy at this level

Omg I cannot beat Father Gascoigne to save my life.
Can do the first 2 phases easily but as soon as he turns into the beast..no chance!
I have even looked on youtube how to cheese it and even that doesnt work :( :( Had to turn it off before I killed my sofa heh

Here's my Bloodborne review after spending a week with it.

Waste of money? Probably.
Cathartic? You betcha !!

Very funny. I was on the same point as you. The rage was building after 15-20 attempts. In the end I just thought 'sod this, I'm really to old to be getting worked up over a game'. Sold it on here. Lost just over a tenner on it, which isn't that bad as I must have played it for around 8-10 hours. Shame as if it had a easier mode I would have really enjoyed it. Kudos to the die hard players that are finishing this, but it just got to the stage where I wasn't enjoying it.

I was fannying about for ages trying to stun him with the gun and get visceral hits but in the end I just stood in the openish section near the arch you come in, took out the long weapon, locked on then dodge, heavy attack (r2 without the charge), repeat.

He'll go down in a few hits and when you see his three hit combo coming just get the hell out of the way until he's done.

Oh and get his health down to about half before you use the music box for the third time. That way when you heavy hit him he'll only have about a third of the health bar left when he transforms.

I'm using the axe by the way.

Good luck. :)

Tried that, still doesn't work. I can get him down to less than a third with ease, just as soon as he is half way through beast part, that's it..nothing I can do to stop it. It's making me emo now lol. I seriously give up!

Why is this game so hard! I played for about 2 and a half hours tonight and all I could do is get out the house and to the first checkpoint before the 'hunt'. Then I kept dying. I killed a shed load of those guys with the pitchforks but when I got to the thing banging on the big door near the bonfire it killed me when I had like 2000 blood echoes.

So did I lose them all? Grr... Save points seem to be very sparse in this game.

I really do love a challenge, but there's a certain tipping point where it stops being fun and think "why am I doing this?", sure this point is different for different people.

But the straw that broke the camels back came for me when I saw that YouTube vid of the guy finishing the game without levelling up, I then tried to emulate just how EASY he did Gascoigne's 2nd form.
Basically, my game bore no resemblance at all to how his was acting and how his boss was seemingly stuck in an easily cheesable loop and after I had reached my (probably) 50th attempt on Gascoigne, I decided that selling the game wasn't good enough and it needed punishing :p :D

Killed the Blood Starved Beast. Found it easy in the end just dodging and hitting. It wasn't getting many hits/poisons on me that way. Shaking by the end mind you!

Anyone struggling with bosses just give the bell a ring and get help. I only take on the bosses around 5 or 6 times by myself then I ring the bell for help otherwise I would be extremely frustrated by this game.

Rang the bell after trying Blood Starved Beast numerous times. He kept killing me and I had used up all my blood vials and antidote. I couldn't be bothered farming for vials and echoes so just ran straight to the boss and rang the bell. Then I sat back as they gave him a beating ran in a couple of times and hit him with the odd swing but that was it. Beat him without a single vial or antidote lol

Anyone notice you can kill the doll and still use her lifeless body to level up? Thought that was quite funny

I'm trying to do the final boss of the defiled chalice dungeon but it gives you half health and hits harder than any boss in the main game. Plus if you summon, they still get their health halved after the initial 30% reduction so they die in 1 hit from anything.
This may take a few tries to get the bosses pattern down.

To those watching YT vids of players easily beating bosses at low level you CAN get them into a pattern - it often doesn't look like much but these people are doing very subtle movements to bait specific attacks. I tried a few ways to on certain bosses and very tiny changes in your movement messes it up. It' quite specific but it's been the case in all these games - after 2-3 attempts at a boss you can learn how to bait the one attack that is easiest to parry or dodge then rinse and repeat - same mechanics as old 90s platform games really just more complex.
It is harder in Bloodborne because the large monsters have movements that are hard to predict at times but it's all about positioning

The wolves on the bridge will follow you down some stairs into the house if you let them chase you. They then cant get in to the house so you can pick them off easily. Farmed a load of souls doing this last night and beat father Gazza on the first attempt

When you beat Gazza theres a lantern straight after him and a woman/creature behind you when you enter the room...I freaked out last night and killed it! Have I lost anything important by doing this?

you haven't broken the game
its a friendly who you can send the people in the houses to. there is another NPC that you can send them to as well
