Ebrietas
is one of the more difficult bosses for me so far. She feels a little cheap compared to most other bosses as her attacks are SO powerful...

Someone mentioned that with a high insight I can see the invisible arm thing that grabs you in cathedral ward. I just avoid the spot where it happens and there is a noise preceeding it to warn you anyway.

If that's all I'm missing (a few hidden non boss enemies) I am glad I used insight points to buy useful stuff :)

Also I've noticed that different beasts appear in different places and they also attack in different ways. Some beasts in Old Yarhnam whimper and cower away from you and won't attack unless your back is turned. Very cool. I am trying not to spend it to see what else changes.

I still haven't gotten past Old Yahrnam/Cathedral Ward, been absolutely hammered at work lately and I don't feel like getting home to this and getting my bottom kicked :p. Probably doesn't help that I refuse to continue without killing the guy at the top of the tower in Old Yahrnam.

If you're just starting, the 3 starter weapons have no requirements pal. If I remember rightly, I picked one from the messenger, went into the in game menu and equiped it, job done.

You can't do it via the inventory by the way, you press the options button, then go down to the 'Arms' squares and select the weapon from there. It's the second row of boxes IIRC.

I am the same I wont continue until that boss is down...lucky for me I got it and now stuck onto the second. Noob question inc.....

Am I suppose to farm Blood, go back level up...do the same again until I am comfortable to continue onto the boss? Any other tips you can give?

Picked BloodBorne up last night and have played a couple of hours already, absolutely loving it. It kinda reminds me of Resi Evil 4 so far. Getting that sort of vibe from it.

I'm a little lost with the leveling system mind, is it worth going back to the lamps periodically? Or is that the whole point, is it a compromise?

Sorry, I've not played Demon Souls/Dark Souls before, so a bit of a noob. Any newbie advice would be appreciated! :)

There's no harm in going back at all. Especially if you're struggling with certain sections. The levels are designed with shortcuts that either take you back to the lamps and/or let you bypass parts of a level - finding these (there's usually one or two before each boss) should be the main priority when exploring. It tends to go like this. Explore and die a bunch of times. Gradually learn where the enemies are and how best to beat them. Find a shortcut, go back to the hub world, level up, and carry on exploring until you find the boss. Die a bunch of times until you learn how to beat said boss. Go back to hub world and level up. Rinse and repeat :)

This sounds exactly what i am doing! Good to know I am doing it right and not just bad at this game!

For those that have finished the last boss, what level were you? What weapon were you using at the time?

Just interested to see the spread if any, maybe spoiler tag it as some may be sensitive to such info unsure

I was
64, using a plus 10 holy blade. Probably could have leveled up more but past a certain point i stopped caring about echoes!

No idea what level I was, but i'm around 110 near the end of NG+ and the game has become easy mode. It's quite easy to overlevel in Bloodborne.

Absolutely go back to other areas, i've been playing to the point of where I feel i'm ahead of the curve, and bosses/areas become obvious that you aren't at the level needed to play through. At those points I go back and do some grinding.

Ive found that on the BSB's level I can fly through twice in around 25 minutes collecting 30k souls so its bumped my level up a bit. When do I reach this invisible arm as Ive been told it takes you to a secret area?

I beat him at level 73 with Saw Cleaver +9.

I finished in the 80's(I think) with a +9 Holy Blade. I'm now in the 130s but I have a lot of points in all stats now, so i'm probably in no better a position than someone around lv100. I'm currently bringing up bloodtinge to 25, which is the last stat I need to raise to 25+. I thought it would be nice to raise all stats to the point at which I hit diminishing returns but some stats are higher to meet item requirements.
