DXRacer Maximum Series Gaming Chair End User Review

I've been thinking about getting one of the "Racer" chairs, and looked at the Formula series...but what worries me is having see a review on youtube that they might be a bit on the small size for some (particular the narrow sitting area).

I'm not a particularly big guy, just about 173cm in height and around 68~70KG in weight. If you don't mind, could you provide some feedback regarding the maximum series relative to your height/build, and do you fill it is just the right size for you or of it is slightly bigger than "perfect fit"?
 
Just got the formula series DXRacer Formula Series Gaming Chair - OH/FE08/NB - PU Black Leather - Blue Flashes and I am sitting in it now. I have quite broad shoulders but the back rest is fine for me. The thing I am a bit surprised about is the seat where it had the sloping upwards sides it is a bit narrow at the front width wise but just about okay for me but I can imagine someone with a bigger frame might not like the seat. I am 5' 9". The top of my head is about 1" lower than the top of the backrest. Jury is still out over the headrest dont know yet whether its comfortable or damn right annoying. Not really bothered with the lumbar bit as I dont normally like this. So beautifully padded under the bum though.
 
My DXRacer Maximum (OH/MY01/N) turned up today.

Really impressed with the build quality, its very well constructed (and very strong/heavy) and certainly got a premium feel to it.

Well pleased I bought this as I definitely needed a upgrade.

I'm sure this will give many years of service.

I'm probably 15 stone now, maybe more.... I'm quite small and I fit fine in the chair =D

I will let you know in the morning about what chairs they have in the shop, last time I went in they didn't have one but you never know. I'l be with 8pack in Cambridge at around 10.30 am though so will let you know (LN2 overclocking play time =D)

ok. Question the first - Is it for big people? (5'11", 20st +)
Question the second - do you get a claustrophobic feel sitting in it if you ARE big?

Hi Davido, I have a question, if you happen to be around your chair with a tape measure! If the arm rests move in and out (ie left and right, as opposed to forward and back), can you see the width between the 2 outer edges please? Also if chair and arm rest height were set to max and min position, how high the top of the arm rest is from the ground? Im trying to get a chair that fits under my desk, between 2 integral pedestals built into the desk. Im looking at a max width (and ive assumed that will be at the arm rests) of 610mm and height of 590mm (i wondered about max height as i could perhaps ramp them up and the arm rests sit on the desk, the seat under it, and I can tuck it under the desk that way.
Any help you can give would be very much appreciated!
 
I was about to pull the trigger on one of these, but to me they don't look very inviting ? What I mean is that the chair looks like its actually in a position that's sort of toppling over if that makes sense.
 
How easily do these chairs recline? In my current chair i recline quite a bit and it does so without too much effort (which i like). I read somewhere that these gaming chairs (dont know if it was about DX specifically) are often quite stiff and take a lot effort to recline.

Mine reclines really easy. The problem you have got is if its reclined back and you are sat upright, ie your back is not touching the chair and you forget and pull the recline handle to get the back forward again my chair back shoots forward with such velocity the first time I did it the damn thing nearly winded me and gave me a right slap on the back.
Almost like a forward flinging ejector seat.

Need to push the lever in then put your back against it, Not much force is needed, I have a DXRacer D series.
