Great news on the exit polls. I just knew the Tories didn't need my vote in the end ;)

Wonder what's going to happen to the weird, lisping monkey. Perhaps his brother would be a more serious candidate?

The biggest travesty of this, if true, is Katie Hopkins will be staying in the UK :(

:D

If - and it's a huge if - the exit poll is accurate, will what's left of the Lib Dems allow Clegg - IF he's still an MP - to go again with the Conservatives? I doubt it tbh.

Paddy Ashdown is saying currently on the BBC saying if this poll is right, he'll eat his hat, and I think he's got a point.

It's going to be an interesting night.....

Labour will go into meltdown if that poll is anywhere near correct.

They all knew Miliband was a lame duck, none of them had the balls to oust him.

That will come back to haunt them.

His brother is another Bliar clone, smiling assassin, as a Labour voter I wouldn't give him 2 seconds of my time. PR over substance.

They don't do an exit poll at every polling station, so they've less to count up (mostly only in swing areas) and also the exact numbers don't matter, they're only providing a 'we think this seat went Conservative' suggestion, which they can already have worked out by 8pm if 90% of their exit poll said Conservative.

The real ballots have to be sorted, counted accurately etc. and can't be started until 10pm.

As to how it translates - it's generally just a rough idea of how many seats each party will end up with, normally there or thereabouts, don't expect an exit poll to say 316 to 239 and then wake up to a Labour landslide victory with 350 seats :p

So just like the other polls in my eyes total BS.

Genuinely surprised and pleased by that exit poll if accurate. I was not expecting that, I doubted the sanity of the voting public.

2 seats plus I'm guessing 10+% for UKIP is a good result for them, guarantees them Short Money and a shot at becoming a serious player.

Effectively, if the polls are true, the Conservatives have been rewarded with a +12 increase (302 to 316) in MPs on 2010, seen the Labour MPs reduced by 17 (256 to 239) and the Lib Dems smashed by a -46 loss (56 to 10) and even UKIP are kept static at 2 MPs.

Apart from having a majority could these polls be any better for Cameron and the Conservatives? Increase in their MPs, coalition partners demolished and the opposition party given a small hit in MPs.
What is it about the Conservatives that people love? Really don't get it.
Could just be as simple as the largest party in the previous coalition Government benefitting from being the incumbent party.
