Televising Wimbledon Annoyances (and discussing the tournament itself)

Breaks straight away. Think we're in for a long old match here.

Looks quite likely but I'm rather hoping Anderson goes on to win this, I'd still have Novak favourite over five sets but if he can prevent it getting that far then so much the better.

I didn't manage to see the Murray match or the Federer one as I was out but it seems the former dealt pretty well with the huge Karlovic serve and the latter appeared to give Agut a masterclass from what I could tell in the text commentary.

Fed didn't face a single break point all match, far too good. Seem to forget he's still in, only ever thought Murray or Novak had a chance.

Djoko breaks and there goes Anderson's chance. Really could only steal this set on a tie break, he's not going to break Novak, let alone hang on.

Just seen Nick Kyrgios and his antics today, muppet.

He's young and slightly unstable adds to the sport for me there are too many ultra professional clones in all sport for me these days we need characters like Nick and Mario Ballotelli to keep sport interesting!

Agassi and Sampras where characters as was Borris but they didn't f and blind and attacked the umpires verbally.... If you have to rely on being a **** to be a character then you need to get more personality!

Yea Anderson has been brilliant this match. Thought he might get blown away in the 5th, but he should have had a break by now really. Hope he gets the job done now.

I cant' watch the women's tennis. It's utterly ruined by shrieking. Case in point:

How can anyone sit through this?

He's 20, plenty of time to grow up. I'm sure most people here were just as mouthy and moody at times during their 20s. Difference here is he has cameras on him in high pressure situations all the time. Besides, is it really much worse than those in their later 20s/early 30s smashing their rackets on court?

To be fair, there are noisy women and men and quiet women and men in tennis. Can't remember which women's match I watched the other day but outside of some end of big point shrieking the actually "I must scream with every point" nonsense wasn't happening at all.

On the other hand a men's match I was watching had the players grunting like idiots with every point. Murray isn't exactly quiet when he plays.

It's the same thing as some dudes who feel the need to grunt with every rep in the gym while others lift more but quietly. I think we had a long period where people randomly got the idea that grunting or making a noise could make you lift bigger or hit the ball harder.
