Windows 10

Upgraded and the apps/tiles section of the start menu is completely blank. I assumed there would be default ones or does it remain empty until I add them myself?

It had default ones on mine, most of them were removed and replaced with my own anyway though.

Anyone installed hyper-v on a laptop in windows 10?

Installed earlier but it's not visible within windows... all services are present, but no hyper-v on the start menu...

The plot thickens...

Just noticed on Windows 10, if you have a multiple windows open on the screen you don't have to click one to bring it to the front to scroll up and down it. You can just hover the mouse over the window you want to scroll and do it. Magic!

Anyone found any info on these updates?

I saw that one was a cumulative update of all the recent small changes on the windows 10 support page.

This is all there is:

KB3081448: This update includes improvements to enhance the functionality of Windows 10.

KB3081449: This update improves the Windows 10 out-of-box experience (OOBE). This update applies only to the Windows 10 OOBE process and will be available only at the time that OOBE updates are installed. Important If you install a language pack after you install this update, you must reinstall this update. Therefore, we recommend that you install any language packs that you need before you install this update.

KB3081452: This update makes improvements to ease the upgrade experience to Windows 10. Important If you install a language pack after you install this update, you must reinstall this update. Therefore, we recommend that you install any language packs that you need before you install this update.

All very vague:

Anyone know how I get the Windows 8.1 all apps view back instead of the list?

I have just rolled back to W 7 - At my age I don't think I will ever get my mind around W 10 - I also know why I didn't get notification for main PC - I purchased a OEM W7.

Going to ponder on it over the winter .

WOW! how sad for you. The day you no longer look forward to learning something new must be a real downer for the human spirit.

Your post took me back to the great Kenneth Wolstenholme's commentary at the end of the 1966 World Cup final.......'they think it's all over...it is now'.

Not the whole line I know, but you get my point.

OEM Windows 7 still gets the upgrade and notification.

Yup, try and give it a go though. Doesn't take too long to get used to the new version

+1, you never know - you might like it. Try it for a while and see how you go. Nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say.

Just managed to upgrade to windows 10 and have a problem with the App Store. You double click to open, says refresh, try again later and closes down.

Any one else have problems?

EDIT: Fixed it. The time zone was set for US, but the time was right? If I set it as London, it make it the wrong time, so set it manually. App store now works :)
