*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Well, I thought I was doing really well on my own defending the conflux in the Templar's Well. Then the buggers decided you have to do the same thing again but two at once. Hence that was me sorted. :D

There's no Titans Lighting grenade any more, its been swaped out for the Bladedacers Arc Bolt grenade I think.

Source? I'll be pretty annoyed if this is true.

In fact, there's no way that can be true unless they're nerfing arc bolts. That'd mean a striker with Armamentarium could single handily wipe out a Trials team if they're close enough together.

I think he means the warlock sith lord has arc bolt instead of lightning grenades. I've no idea I just pulled from reddit.

Here's the stormcaller talent grid

The middle grenade is the new one, called the "Storm Grenade"

The bottom one is definitely the Blade Dancers arc bolt grenade.
Top one appears to be the Striker Titan Pulse Grenade

Night Stalker gets a new one called the "Voidwall greneade"

Top one appears to be the defender titans spike grenade
The bottom one appears to be the Voidwalkers Vortex grenade

Nightstalker also gets a melee which throws down a smoke bomb and lets them vanish. Its in the melee slot and only works when melee is fully charged.

Sunbreaker titan gets a new grenade called the "Match Grende"

The other two appear to be the Sunslingers "Fusion Grenade"
and the bottom one appears to be the Gunslingers "Incendiary Grenade"

so 3 new grenades.

So, what's everyone going to main first up in TTK?

Genuinely torn. I've been playing my hunter for the first time in a while (to get some 5k bounties stashed), and forgotten how much fun it is.

The least appealing of the new supers is stormcaller so I think I'm going to main hunter or titan first....can't decide which. Quite like the idea of a good support role for hunters as they have been a bit gimped in PvE until now.

all will be forgiven if the Hammer Titan is as cool as it appears in the video.

In the "Strike the Dreadnaught" reveal it did massive damage to the land tank. Plus I think only the grenades are reused in the talents, all the rest is new ?

Even though I find the Warlock to be the most fun to play these days, I started out as a Hunter and so I'll probably start off TTK as a Hunter.

After always sneaking plays of Destiny on mates PS4s etc over the past year, I've decided to finally take the plunge and get a PS4 as there are quite a few games that I want to play anyway.

So, to this aim, I have the Taken King PS4 console bundle arriving on the 15th. Is there anything I need to do or know about to prepare for then, or just play it normally?

Getting a character to 34 would mean you start TTK at 34, but I don't think it will take much to get there if you're a bit lower. Usual expansion prep :

Max out crucible marks
Max out vanguard marks
Get 10x 5000XP bounties completed ready to hand in
Do a public event every day and leave the reward package in the postmaster

That reminds me, I need to spend some time stashing some bounties, mats, glimmer etc. as I don't have much of anything at the moment.

My Warlock is my main so will be my first as contrary to you I like the look of the super. Also I would like to get my warlock levelled up for the new raid as self res is so useful in an unknown raid. Having seen very little on the TTK stuff, titan hammer looks next best so probably will do my hunter last.

It'll be a completely new character as my previous plays were done on other peoples accounts. Just wondered if there's anything I should know beforehand, things to bear in mind as I play the new character. Pretty sure I'll be going the hunter route, and I thoroughly enjoyed using handcannons and sniper rifles.

What Mid_gen said but as for anything else? The guns are playable on any character though the hunter does have some perks useful for gun play. If it is coming on the 15th then only a week before TTK so the only thing I would say it don't worry too much about armour or weapon drops as once TTK comes out some/most of it will be outdated anyway.

Pigtails of course... :p

If your PS4 is arriving on 15th September, that's the same day as The Taken King releases so you won't be able to do anything beforehand anyway. :p
