*** The Official Xbox One Thread ***

I think it's still awful, My second xbox one and this ones going after owning it for 2 weeks aswell. I have tried to like it twice now and I just don't like it and if my mates want me to game with them they better get a ps4.

Shame really :(

What don't you like about it?

Pretty much everything.
The horrible interface,
How slow it is to do anything,
Swapping in and out of 720p / 1080p which my projector doesn't like, to name a few.

is it? I just turned mine and thought, how have they possibly made it worse.

Smaller text and now I can also scroll down? like a 1990s website that is in the wrong resolution ffs.

Hmmm well I'm playing on a 50" screen but the text doesnt seem overly small to me. Also its far more structured from the off rather than simply awiating peoole to customise it.

Its certainly more pleasant to look at and its running well. Its great to use and MS made the right call in updating it.

Yea, took me little to know time to get used to it, removed the Kinect design stuff, easy to access, plus, we know how good MS will be for updating it over the next few months.

Encounted a situation where I wanted the hand gestures last night. Sat on the couch "Xbox on" then "Xbox go to...media player" then it wouldn't understand the clips I wanted to play. Raised my hand out of habit to select the show I wanted but nothing.....

Shame they removed it. Hopefully its back in at some point, I'd actually like more support for the device. Great piece of kit technology wise.

Hehe, I got it to play a few games with mates like GOW and Neverwinter but they are not that good either and seeing as thats all they play then it's not going to work for me.

size of the screen doesn't matter that much tbh as people tend to sit closer to smaller screens and further away to larger ones.

e.g. i have both a 50" tv and a 24" gaming monitor, but i sit at relative distance to either so both appear somewhat similar.

in fact i think i prefer the 24" as i can see everything in more detail as it's far closer.

I wasn't suggesting it was to do with screen size although I can see in retrospect how it could be perceived that way. I have 3 24" monitors for my PC gaming and obviously sit at a desk when playing. Much better when playing FPS and seeing the slightest detail.

I was more detailing my experience on the Xbox One as I don't know how the other guy is set up.

Looking to pick up an XB1 this week but not sure to go for a 500Gb or 1Tb model, I know external drives can be used but is that just for media rather than game installs?
