*** The Official Bloodborne Thread ***

Dlc seems good so far, not found a boss yet just taking as many different ways as i can. Dont get much blood echoes from this area compared to later game vanilla areas

Have fun when you get to him ;)

You're right about the echoes though, the same enemies are giving less than 1/5th of what they would in the normal game.

Well I have to say - have >1000 hours in the Souls series before Bloodborne meant I found the game far too easy - but this DLC is another story. I don't really play games any more which helps but this seems to be a lot more brutal than the main game. Thankfully it seems to scale to your level so I didn't bother starting again.

I was in NG+5 or so I think at the start so blasted through the first 3 bosses in 20 mins to unlock the DLC worrying that if the DLC wasn't much harder I'd be done in a couple of hours but 2 hours later and I'm not even up to the first boss!!

I've found what looks to be the boss arena but I'm clearing out all the other enemies and hunters for the new weapons first. I've found about 6 new weapons already so there are quite a few it would seem.

The gatling gun hunter was fairly tough, but for me the primary challenge has come from fighting those giant axe wielding alien/beast hybrids that use some sort of magic enhancement. Those things are the most brutal bloodborne enemy I've faced yet - the lingering effect of their attacks makes them hard to take on. Just need to learn their parrying window to negate all that but after 10 deaths at the first one I didn't even attempt to fight when there was 2 of them together!!

Really enjoying the DLC. It's nice being caught out, surrounded, beat 1 on 1 and having to learn the new enemies and areas. Might have a spare hour or so tonight to kill the first boss.

Yea which makes dying a bit trivial, got really far in without dying killing all enemies on the way and had only netted like 20k, which is nothing as there are areas towards the end of the game where you get 10k for killing certain enemies :(

So dying isnt an issue so much, well it is interms of progressing the area ofc.

Speccing blade of mercy has made this really brutal and hands on :D no range at all but feels great to pull off

I've found the only thing that does enough damage to be useful is my +10 Hunters axe. All my other weapons just tickle most of the enemies.

Thats odd! But are you on a higher ng? Im on the first run really with a new character and its fine so far except a few which i wont spoil! They arent too strong but the attack patttern is mental!

I think I'm on NG++. There are a number of hunters that kill me with 2 good swings (not charge attacks)

Had 3 quick tries vs first boss on my lunch break...didn't go well for me.

Get him to his 2nd main phase pretty quickly but 1st time I didn't know his attacks so got wrecked. 2nd time I just got stuck in a corner and the 3rd time I got myself annoyed that I couldn't skip the cut-scene and lost focus. haha.

Got him down to 20% or so by 3rd attempt and was rushing as had to go back to work so should probably have him in another couple hopefully. I summoned an NPC for the 2nd fight and the NPC just got stuck on scenery on route so that backfired.

His health bar is massive though!! It certainly tests your patience as you chip away. As I didn't have much time I kept just taking far too many risks and in the end that massive powered overhead got me as I hadn't seen it before and figured I was at a safe distance with full health...NOPE

Anyone wish they add a few features e.g.

Remove levels from your character, put into different areas
replay boss fights without starting again in NG+

Finding it hard to level up new weapons above +6, can't find many blood stone chunks. i can't give up my current +10 due to amount of damage it does.

Blood Starved Beast isn't joking around. Seems like I'm gonna hit a roadblock here unless I learn to gun parry him.

Fire + Oil works very well. or go a different route, not the main boss.

EDIT: another item to make him go after it, not sure whats the name.

You could replay boss fights by offering yourself in co op to help others!

Yea this will help loads! Make sure to have antidotes on you aswell as he can poison you.
Just beat him. 4th try, once I got the gun parry timing down, he wasn't too difficult.

He's not a main boss? Huh, I guess I need to look around more cuz it seemed like this was the main way to go. Killed the hunter at the top of the tower shooting bullets at me, too.

If y'all could give me a *hint* as to where to go next, that'd be cool.

Still not great, sure was a feature in dark souls 2 to replay boss fights?
No, there's never been any 'replay' feature in any of the Souls games.

Though a Ninja Gaiden Black-esque mission mode that included some bosses in the harder trials seems like a pretty awesome idea.

Yea bloodborne has a way of not making clear the critical path but i like that! Hey i learned something new from you cheers! Didnt realise you could gun parry this boss! Will try it next time :D

Yea first dlc boss is indeed a challenge! Had it close a few times, refuse to summon for now! I know i can do it but keep getting caught out! With blade of mercy i have to be so close to even attack so doesnt give me a good chance :D

I'm really struggling on the first boss. I went and did some chalice dungeons for a break and I've levelled up another 5 or so points in strength and I now seem to be doing worse against him!

Arghhhh!
