** Star Wars Episode VII - SPOILERS WITHIN **

Who said anything about production value being the absolute criteria in those movies i have listed.

When did I mention about them having higher production value?

Wait, read back again, nope I didn't, unless you just assumed it?

Ok I assumed as the story for T2 was lame and the thumbs up at the end just awful :p

One doesn't judge a book on the look of its font...

Highlander has the worse special fx...the worst acting ....but it's one of the best films ever made...

It has character and story and depth...

So your entire argument if a movie has a good story, everything else can suck and your evidence is Highlander?

One of the best film ever made??? Seriously? That's your example of a good story movie but no good visual?

Sure you can have your opinion but you loses credibility somewhat with Highlander as "one of the best movie".

I wrote an essay on while I was at university...the essay was marked 98%

Highlander is a masterpiece.

Easy Rider - Ruining film threads by causing needless arguments since Dec '05.

PS The Force Awakens is the GREATEST Star Wars movie ever.......FACT!

:D

Anyway, isn't this a Star Wars thread, please take any discussions of inferior films into their own thread, ta!

A movie isn't a book, and shouldn't be judged the same. A movie is different.

Movies have a story yes, but then there so much more. The acting, the music, the camera work, the directing, hell even the casting makes an impact. To ignore these is a great disservice to the media as an artform.

T1 is better than T2

TFA is NOT the best Star Wars film. It's good, but I was watching parts of the originals last night and they were absolutely better. It's the small things I liked. They take the time on each scene to set it right. Having older evil looking staff on the star destroyers, TFA has the ginger lad out of about time (at least I think that's where I've seen him from), he's hardly going to give me nightmares.

I really want to be angry with easyrider for derailing two threads at once with his handbag fight, but he says all the right things and I find myself agreeing with him even on The Highlander subject... :D

Easyrider I hear where you are coming from. After the film finished everyone in the cinema stood up and clapped and I didn't feel like it was so great to deserve that. It was a bit of entertaining but forgettable fluff up there with all the comic book adaptions we get these days.

So 3 people agreed with Easyrider > over everyone in the cinema now?

:p

Finn was miscast...so ok I'll give you that.

But he was black....ticking the diversity box for Hollywood...
