US: Supergirl (Arrow/Flash team)

I'm liking it a lot more than I thought I would after the first couple of episodes (they "girl power" stuff got toned down just enough for me and the more irritating members of the cast got rounded out). My biggest problem with it now is the Superman factor, since for whatever reason they can't/won't cast an actor and actually use him on screen in any meaningful capacity so the constant name drops (or actually references in lieu of name drops most times) are getting a bit irritating.

What gets me is the whole 'this city' concept which fits with arrow, barely with the flash and not at all with super girl. It was near laughable in the last episode where they were about to say 'take over the world' and instead said 'take over the city'. Small gripe tbh.

watched it. complete. complete. complete and utter *****

Completely agree, I'm watched 4 episodes (after seeing Jessica Jones) & I've got no interest in the characters, I'm falling asleep watching this rubbish.

Supergirl & her sister are nice eye candy.

What really bothers me is that Jimmy knows supermans identify. When did this happen?

i'm still watching this but not completely convinced yet, the main lead is cute and comes across well and most of the cast outside of her 'work place' range from Ok to quite good, the action scenes are quite decent actually and the special effect does seem to have money behind it.

My main problem is the cast inside her work place, mostly the two male leads. The 'not-gay' best friend who sole purpose in the show seems to be for him to be cucked by the Olsen puppet who's sole purpose is to be there for Supergirl to lust after.

Hmm. Hmm again. Still not finding it hugely satisfying, despite some of the subject matter and events that go on. No doubt I'll continue watching though.

The GF has started to watch this. I've caught a few moments of it. So the context is that this is a high school teen love triangle chick flick, they just accidentally set it in a media office, right?

I'm guessing Supergirl is planning on not going to the prom, but that dude she fancies is going to ask her, and all the cool girls are eventually going to let her hang out in their gang at the mall, too?

It not really a spoiler as it is taken from the comics, Jimmy is known as Supes best pal. He then got a watch that can call him anytime anywhere (it totally silly imo). What makes this a little hard to follow for the casual viewer, is this show and others take bits from comic book and add them in which is fine. However for those that dont read the material it might not make a lot sense.

ie Martian Manhunter -MM - (J'onn J'onzz) is the last martian but it doesnt explain he the last "green" martian whereas the white martian are from the same planet and also the war between green and white is again from the comic books which they introduce with little explaination.

Btw a little mistake is that the martians are telepathic and are equally as powerful as superman but with the exception to the weakness to fire. In the last episode Kara sister used a gun to shoot a martian finger off?? Also the white martian couldnt read human minds to find out where JJ was or who he was. (being a little critical)

still enjoyed the show nevertheless. The effects were quite good in parts, flight etc.

Excellent episode. Parts from comics/Superman 3.

Few silly points. But overall thoroughly enjoyed it. Good to know
