** Star Wars Episode VII - SPOILERS WITHIN **

No one has addressed my question about Rey being able to understand wookie...

Can anyone shed any light on this for me please?

That you're trolling? I can see that clear as day...

Anyway back on topic...

Also I'm anxious to know how Rey can speak wookie?

Rey, who has never left her home planet since she was a child, can speak Wookie. Nobody can speak Wookie... it's a running joke in the Star Wars universe. Doesn't Luke ask solo all the time what Chewie is saying?

But Rey being able to speak Wookie surprises neither her, Han Solo, nor Chewbacca himself.

It wasn't your question. You just cut and pasted it from huffington post word for word.

I emailed my response to them directly :p:D

The thing is are they purposefully making it obvious she's Luke's daughter like they did with Finn holding a lightsaber in all the promotional media so that it's more of a shock when they do reveal the truth?

Seems too obvious she is Luke's daughter, wouldnt put it past them though.

It would be incredibly lazy, and they would have to explain why neither Han nor Leia know her given she is the child of their friend, a friend who they knew and trusted enough to train their Force sensitive son only a few years prior.

It would also make Luke a super crappy father figure.

Yeah, my GF knows little about Star Wars but on the way to see it when we were talking about how it fits with the timelines of the other films, she said "so the girl in this one is Luke Skywalkers daughter, right?".

Nobody's seen what Yoda was like in his 20s. Maybe Rey is Yoda's daughter. Maybe the green skin and pointy ears is a sign of maturity.

a descendant of Palpatine would be a good shout; or it's possible that Vader had more children than just Luke an Leia?

Kylo Ren's reaction when he hears of a girl is quite clearly one of someone who knows which girl it's being talked about.

If Rey's dream is in fact a vision of the past then it's possible that she is the one Ren is stalking towards at the end of the vision so it's quite clear that someone has messed with her head to ensure that she doesn't remember anything.

It would also (if she had once been force trained) explain her speed in picking up the abilities she shows throughout the movie.

Around 10 years prior to the events of TFA. She was left with Unkhar at the age of 6-8. She's around 18-19 in TFA.

JJ confirmed in one of the interviews that in-story timeline between OT and TFA is 38 years. More than enough for Ray to be Luke's granddaughter if needed (yeah, I'm still pushing this theory) ...

Nothing in SW canon can explain her speed of picking up the abilities. Especially not dark side of the force abilities (reverse mind probing/reading).

During Rey's flashback of the ship leaving Jakku which contained her parents, can anyone remember or confirm anything about who was holding her at the time? Like was someone holding her back or something?

We are discussing at work, trying to remember snippets and come up with any clues to draw our theories :p

I seen it first time last night and though it was amazing, whilst being disappointed a lot at the same time with plot weirdness and so much "borrowed" from previous. Visuals and sounds, it was truly great but plot, just a bit meh.... Going to see it again though! :D
