What did you do to your bike today?

Not my bike but gave a brand new Honda Crossrunner demo unit a good spanking.

Rather impressed! Not my cup of tea for a personal bike but for works use it was good stuff. That V4 is intoxicating when you get it on the boil! The Akra on it sounded pretty immense also. The LED headlights were FANTASTIC! Best lights I have ever used on a bike. :D

The older ones are the definition of 'gopping' haha - god they're ugly, like a fat bloated wart! The new model is a bit nicer though.

I set a new record for riding into work this morning, must have only taken 25-30 minutes.

Had a friend look at the CBR and found an arking earth wire feeding to the fuel relay. I'd already found the corroded contacts and cleaned them up with some WD40. Thought that was the end of the issues!...Until it conked out again leaving me waiting an hour for the AA to come out again.

Found a write up about CBR fuel pumps and the symptoms of them dying and it falls in line with what's happening. So I've ordered a cheapo replacement pump which appears to already be on the bike. I don't want to buy an official Honda pump as it's priced at £191 when this replacement pump is £15-£20.

Got a new fuel pump relay coming as well just in case

You'll know where you are with a new pump

Use some wirewool of flatbladed screwdriver and scratch the wire terminals up aswell

The Sena 20s is due on a rainforest deal at 5:30pm, it's already at £166 so might be close to £100 with the deal.

Edit: £118. And it's already sold out.:(

Got my pack of "gopro" mounts delivered today.

You get everything, pretty much bar the kitchen sink :D

All the mounts

On top of this, you get a chest harness, a helmet/head harness and another mystery plate. Oh and a bag to keep everything in :D

They seem decent quality, nothing is broken etc. Not bad for £15!

Dont be suprised if tge replacement packs up too, mine did. If your other pump is oem honda then buy the contacts replacement kit for 20 ish of wenoto. My pump died and left me stranded on two occasions before i gave up and ran her without a pump. Fuel line straight into the carbs. Runs perfect up to a 110ish.. 120 and she breaks up and you need to throttle off for a while.

Made some tweaks to the ECU map. Amazing what the Woolich Racing kits can do.

Ordered a new link pipe from South Africa. Should save me about 40% off retail as someone is bringing it back for me :)

Next up is a dyno run then book the Almeria trip after a shakedown at Silverstone :)

I've just bought a cheapy one to get be on the road for now. I'll search for an OEM pump and get the kit for it while I'm running on this new one.

Opened the cap on the fuel pump today to see how it was running and to be honest I think I've found the problem. It barely moves on idle and the same at 7K rpm.

Parts on order as it stands:
Fuel pump (pattern part)
Replacement fuel pump relay ( just in case as earth wire was arcing just short of it)
black double bubble screen
pack of fairing screws
radiator temp fan switch

Has anyone ever used a wheel roller? My bike only has a sidestand and I'm wondering if it may be safer than using a rear-paddock stand to clean/lube the chain on my own.

If you have a flat/level bit of ground there's nothing wrong with a paddock stand (waits for Kreee to suggest an abba stand ;)). Removing it from the stand is the only hard bit, but you just push on the bike as you release the pressure on the stand, to guide it to the left rather than the right.

Done some more tinkering and found a dodgy wire in the fuel pump. It's put my mind at ease now that I've found a potential cause
