I've used procyclehire before. If you send them the measurements from your own bike they will swap stems and spacers, etc to get a close match.

No idea about the bike sizing but I rented from procyclehire early September for a day. Pretty good rental and some great cycling out there! I think I just emailed them beforehand to check how the sizing would be for me based on my current bike's measurements.

Thanks for the posts it seems they have limited amount of frame sizes etc at certain times.

I've linked to my frame size with reach and stack and asked for suggestions.

Decent cycling out there ?

Well I woke up later than planned, setting my alarm to snooze helped with that! Trudged out 36 cold, wet and slow kilometres this morning before I'd had enough of the rain.

Back to the drudgery of cycling to work tomorrow too.

415km for the week. Doubled every day except today with weights/core work including squats and big leg day.

Back under 63kg.

Inhaling granola cookies now. It's all worth it.

Just bought Shimano Dura Ace 11 speed Chainset | Crankset FC - 9000. 180mm. 53 - 39 MD, practically brand new for £150 inc postage. (few very light shoe scuff marks on the cranks but for £150 couldn't say no. Excited!!

My aims for 2015 were not really set in stone so...

my main aim is to carry on doing what I'm doing - branching out, hill climbing more, doing some routes/hills I've driven/know about and getting out with some group rides (already done 1 of those). 2015 (in theory) will be my 'first full year' riding with intent, as for 8+ months of 2014 I only rode my commute on a hybrid with no real interest in any other riding! :)

I meant I use it more than just a bailout so with the 32, I'd have that as my bailout! I'm going to attempt a short 8% (parts up to 30%!) soon and want to hit this 1 mile 10% before the end of the month as don't want too much rubbish on the roads as the road surface is pretty rubbish in places without leaves/mud. It's one of my last goals for 2015 so will be nice to get it complete! :D

The climbs mentioned in September I rode before the end of the year. I've still not done the Tumble but that will get done quite soon in the new year & better weather, I nearly did it Christmas week on the 1 good day we had but the other half persuaded me otherwise. I did set a load of goals on climbs and a couple of long segments when I started Premium.

My Heatmap:
2015%20Heatmap.JPG

Looks pretty plain as not many major landmarks on there for those of you outside the midlands! I excluded the 2 rides from Rhodes as it was only 4 slow miles easy on a clunky hire bike! ;)

Totals for the year:
  • Distance: 3,286.3 mi
  • Time: 212h 33m
  • Elev Gain: 122,933 ft
  • Rides: 442

2014:
  • Distance: 1,650.5 mi
  • Time: 118h 25m
  • Elev Gain: 11,033 ft
  • Rides: 354

Compared to my 2014 (which was 99% commuting) I'm chuffed with that.

My aims for 2016 are simple - ~4000 miles, at least 150,000 ft climbing and I want to do both centuries.

Erk, that's not good! Pretty sure I've seen 'garmin compatible' mounts for sale somewhere as I considered buying one and gluing it to my mobile before I got my 810... Unsure how you would get the current off the back though!

Damn that's good... Tempted if I wasn't hoping to goto discs later in the year...

All proper mudguards are a faff :p

Edited for you

Are you sure that's the right length for you? As noted 180mm is quite specialist & total waste of money otherwise...! Apologies if it is as don't really know how experienced you are as not seen you post before! :)

I am 6ft 5, after all :p

That's pretty tall I guess :p

I'm only 6'1'' but even with long legs for my height I seem to be fine with 172.5mm cranks. I do wonder if I'd be better with 175mm but I guess for me at least the difference is going to be minimal.

Edited for you

Well, as you own one of each model of mudguard you would know. Boom :p

Checked this morning and 3kg of xmas flab :( (well, really that's just over two months of severe inactivity and eating badly)

Time to get serious about things again.

Ride in this morning was painful too. Crazy HR figures given the relatively mild pace.
