In no order, few game soundtrack standouts for me -
Crysis 2
Tomb Raider reboot
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Dead Space 3
Mass Effect 2
FEAR
Doom 2
Modern Warfare 2
STALKER
Max Payne 3
Half Life
Novastorm
Dead Island Riptide
Skyrim
Fallout 4
Morrowind
Deus Ex - Human Revolution
Deus Ex
The Dig
TitanFall
Far Cry 4
RAGE
The Witcher 3
Heres a few that come to mind. The last one is Kirill Pokrovsky, anything by him is by far the best I have heard. Also the whole Capsized sound track is worth listening to.
The c64/Amiga ones are probably just nostalgic.
This is 4 tracks, i like the one that starts at about 10mins.
Love this soundtrack, espcially Arkham Bridge! Also happy to see Streets of Rage 2 and Total Annihilation getting so much love, absolute classics both.
I started gaming way back in the Commodore 64 and i'm all that I time I have probably played 1000's of games but I can not remember one sound track at all. But then I don't listen to music.
Bastion
Frozen Synapse + Red expansion
Crypt of the Necrodancer
There Came An Echo
Hotline Miami (both games)
Final Fantasy VI: Balance and Ruin (free from http://ff6.ocremix.org/)
Some samples:
I could only find the entire soundtrack for There Came An Echo, but it's worth it!
No Bastion samples as the songs are so integral to the game you should play it before you listen to them!
I'll stop there as I could post game music for hours!
