RIP Windows Phone

I'm being sent a 950 to review. Somebody been reading this thread? :p

I think the 950 comes with WP10. I've heard its very buggy. Be interesting to see whats its like after a few updates. One of the guys in the office got one today. Be interesting, to hear what he thinks. That said he lives and breathes MS. Hes unlikely to have a bad word about it. Hes our BOFH, so no one will disagree with him. LOL.

We've dropped WP as work phones. Switched back to Android. I still have mine as personal phone though. I still like it. Just disappoint how much still isn't working properly.

Cause we know what your opinion is.

It doesn't add anything.

Same could be said of you, or virtually anyone else who has already posted in the thread

it's a thread about Windows Phone losing relevance, why would you expect to not see people discussing their negative experience and opinion on this thread?

Been using windows phone since 7.5 on a Lumia 900. My 640 is running latest build of 10. Find it more responsive than 8.1 denim was. For instance it connects to car via Bluetooth than previous versions. Do I miss the app gap? Not really. Everything I need is available, 3rd party twitter apps that work, photo editing software, bookcase and a few others. Works seamlessly with our exchange server at work. With Continuum I could in theory replace my desktop pcs most of my job involves rdp'ing to servers. One app I would like would be the DJI app for flying the phantom drones.

Cause anyone talking of liking it and prefer it immediately gets asked "but why".
The only opinion that wanted is a negative one.

I don't think it's unusual for anyone who says they like a minority 'thing' to be asked why?

You just have a massive issue with anyone who asks you why, and react by being incredibly aggressive and dismissive.

The question keeps getting asked because the answer is normally so vague as to be meaningless. Often it's accompanied by an overly defensive passive aggressive remark too, as if asking for for a decent explanation of why someone considers Windows Phone to be the best mobile OS is akin to insulting someone's mum.

What photo editing app do you use?

The Nokia here Transit is really good, as are the maps. Works better than my sat nav. Bit of a problem converting google map links to the maps app for navigation. Thats been a problem.

What an idiotic post, they just released a new hardware in December as well as a new OS, is about to announce new hardware in Feb, and is set to announce a surface phone in the summer when Redstone rolls out.

After the failures of Windows RT and ARM Windows tablets, how do you have so much faith when once again another Microsoft execution is falling apart?

The other way to answer it, is I felt more comfortable using it over iOS and Android.

Isnt Surface doing rather well now?

Didn't the Nexus 10 have a bad run?

Is Chromebook a massive success yet?

Surface as in what?

My Surface 2 RT's as dead as dead can be in terms of actual support, as are any other Windows ARM tablet.

On the X86 side of things, my Surface 3 Pro's stellar (Bar Windows 10 being a downgrade to 8.1 in some aspects)
Who's going to argue the Nexus 10 didn't do as well as it should have done? And what happened, it got dropped as a SKU. That's not a rebuttal at all really.

I don't get why people clamour to the defence of Microsoft. I'm all for Microsoft products, I don't understand why people jump on the "I need to get away from Windows" mentality, but their movements towards the mainstream for both phones and tablets are pretty poor. X86 Surface tablets may be doing well (But if you read my history, I think MS should have went X86 from the get go)

Still not really getting into the why though, answers like that don't give any more insight than just posting 'because'

I guess the fluidity, how the whole OS just feels better to me.

Stil no one here has said its the "best", everyone has said they prefer it.

Question is, why do Android users feel they have to come in and ask that?
Why does the choice of a seemingly tiny minority, worry you and other users so much?

I think the RT part was more of a finding out phase, plus a lot linked to what Window's 8 was doing whilst W10 was being worked on.
W10 the idea being at its core it runs on all MS devices.
