Moto X Force

No it only has a mono front facing speaker, the other speaker grille is just for decoration.

I had no idea the Play didn't have that ambient display sensors...that was a close call as it was in contention. Until the Force sale today.

Force being amoled then it'll just light the pixels required where as the Style and Play have to light the whole screen when using ambient display. Not really an issue mind.

Shame, It would have probably been an instant purchase.

Style has 2 front facing speakers

I hear what others say here about the size. The Style is actually narrower than the Force. Handle both and there's not a right lot between them. I'd think if you could handle the Force screen then doubt you'd struggle with the Style's. It is big and beautiful ;) I have big hands so find either manageable. Really hope they don't go bigger - but said that when I got the 2014 moto x

I wasn't expecting much of the Style's battery when I bought it but it has surprised me. I'd call myself a medium user as opposed to heavy, whatever either are. Maybe even light some days. Couple of light days, maybe an hour or more of screen on time, an hour of calls etc etc and I've gone 2 days without charging. It sips practically nothing over night. 11pm to 5-30am dropped my battery 4%. Similar use with the bigger battery of the Play and never got 2 full days. Every bodies milage will vary.

Apart from the £500 price tag to start with I was concerned the display is no brighter at max setting than the 2014 moto x. That was a problem outdoors on bright days, more so in summer. I may be wrong though.

Currently got a Z3 Compact. Would this be a decent upgrade?

Compare specs on them online? I can't see it not being for the price, but your mileage may vary.

My Force just arrived. It's no where near as ugly as online would have you believe, and feels like a very manageable size (coming from a Moto X Mk2). The ballistic nylon back is not in the same league as the real leather back of the Moto X, but for £200 off the leather Force, it's very much fine!

After a day of first day use (installing apps, tinkering with settings, trying new browsers, watching lots of YouTube) 6hrs10mins screen on time.

This should be good!

The style looks very nice, But like all smart phones theres one thing missing I would like.

On that one it is an AMOLED screen, I couldn't go back to IPS/LCD now :(

I thought I'd miss the amoled display of the old Moto x but in truth I don't think I do. Whites seem far, err, whiter! To me the colour balance looks a lot nearer the mark on the Style. Blacks aren't as deep black and don't think the contrast is quite as good. But it's still a good display. Goes far brighter though which helps outdoors on bright sunny days.

Had mine since Saturday afternoon.
I was a little worried about the top layer of the screen making it feel plasticy like a cheap screen protector but it feels pretty much the same as a normal glass screen without any real drag and the battery life is the best of any phone I've ever used.
It's been off charge since 9am yesterday with 4.5 hours OST and it's still got another 2 hours left in it according to the battery stats. Considering my usual usage would easily flatten a phone to the point of not risking leaving it off charge over night I'm impressed!

I picked up my phone from CPW on Thursday and it's a cracking device.
Pictures on the internet do not do the Moto X Force justice as it's much better looking in real life.

I think it's a decent phone and very speedy, SD810 hasn't heated up the phone and it's running like a dream. I'll definitely keep it until the end of the year and see what the next Nexus devices bring to the table.

The tempered glass SP I bought was awful and it didn't stick to the screen like it should and was a complete waste of money.

All in all a very decent phone and a bargain for £299, I certainly wouldn't pay £500 for it though.

Managed to get one of these too and find it a great phone.

Nice surprise to have wireless charging too.

Just wish the likes of Spigen, ringke and poetic made cases for it.

Also the Brotect flexiable glass protector works fine on it.

As above the brotect flexible screen protector works fine and sticks down with no bubbles etc. I got the diztronic tpu case which is fine and has a nice tight fit.

Is anyone else having problems with wireless charging? On a Samsung wireless charger it just keeps flickering charging every second on and off and with the cheapo 10 quid one off Amazon it keeps coming up with align with charger screen and gets to about 75% and is impossible to line up 100%. Also it doesn't charge through the diztronic case which is a pain :( any suggestions for maybe a stronger wireless charger?

Had to return mine today to cpw. had a green line appear on the screen.

Had none in stock so just went with a refund and was told I wasn't the first with this problem??

Damn Dude unlucky. I've just googled the issue and it's quite worrying. Quite a few threads on various forums outlining the green line problem.

I've just had a thought...maybe that's why CPW were selling the devices so cheap??

Just reading the stories about the dreaded green line issue instilled panic within me. Everytime I looked at my phone I was half expecting to see the line there thus spoiling my enjoyment of the Moto X Force. I thought as I was within the 14 day period I'd return the phone to CPW for a refund and wait for the next batch of phones to come out at the MWC.

Can't blame you to be honest, I had a look over the net after reading your reply to me and it is quite a common problem. Also glad I had a refund now.

I know! It's like a time bomb waiting to happen. I couldn't hack it and had to dump the phone as I couldn't take the chance.

Shame really as the device was really good.
