People have really misinterpreted my initial post. I for one like the film, I have seen worse, in fact I have seen beheading videos, real life stuff I wish I hadn't, my point was that this film amongst others obviously is getting closer and closet to that horrific scenario. My feelings are that I enjoyed this as everyone else did, but what does that say about us and in the future once we find John Wick tame and boring, how far will Hollywood go to make entertainment.

It's already happened in TV. The scene in TWD where they slaughter the humans like pigs is one of the most disgusting things I've seen broadcast. That's what I wanted to talk about. The future possibility and whether we should go there.

To be honest I don't want to know about that.

I've had it kicking about for ages but only just watched it because of this thread, Not a KR fan at all but that's about as good as I've seen him in a film.:p

I really don't know what you're on about. John Wick isn't really any more graphically violent than, say, Equilibrium from over ten years ago. It's a better film, mind you. You're talking as though we're now reaching some nadir of violence but we're really not.

I enjoyed John Wick. I didnt think it was any worse than anything else i have seen. Quite tame really. There are far more graphically violent films and tv shows in the mainstream than this one..

You're weird OP :p

Meh. I have a cat. I think I'd manage to resist murder if someone bumped her off.

Are you one of the best assassins in the world, and would your cat have been murdered by your old employer's son who only set you free after you risked your life completing an impossible mission? Also, is your cat the last gift you received from your now deceased wife who was the only good thing in your life and was the only thing helping you grieve her loss?
Did you even watch the film? :p

Well, now you put it like that...

It doesn't make sense when the original context is someone stamping your dog to death and you wanting to take revenge. Not wanting to do it just because they called your dog a ****.
Cat actually... and that's why it is a joke - Film reference plagiarised to fit a different context to provide a comedic OTT response.

Yes, I got the reference, but that wasn't the part I was referring to...
There is no other part... unless you're trying to make something of it?

I got the impression the jest was directed at me (since I was the one insulting his cat) and I felt it was a good reference worth a giggle, but you *clearly* know better and feel perfectly justified in kicking off over some kind of offence caused by it, so you go ahead... we'll just sit here and watch.

I never intended it to get to this stage either mate.

If any slight offence was caused, it was with your comment about how "People need to get over themselves. It's just a dog" because you don't get why someone might go ape**** and want revenge.
And tbh, I'm not sure how people needing to get over themselves even makes sense here.

While I got that it was a joke, I was a bit miffed with the "Don't shoot me for insulting your dog" line, since it doesn't fit the context of the discussion.
Insulted/offended? No, but I'm sure ttaskmaster knows better and will be back to tell me what I think.

Clearer now?

It was tame. He shot guys in the head, chest, etc, and there was little or no blood in most scenes. In fact the most blood I saw was the dog's. Also, if you watch closely, a lot of the "killing" is actually off-camera. You just see a close-up of Keanu and the gun goes bang.

The "revenge" aspect was pretty much a throwaway. For the most part, Wick just kills people because "that's what he does". The occasional scene with Keanu shouting "you killed my dog, you monsters" never really convinces. Perhaps it's because Keanu can't act.
