This sadly reminds me of our pay negotiations at work. This last year.

They offered a **** deal despite highest proffits ever (share dividend was increased by 69% too profit up 60% on the last year, so an epic year) was voted no, they made a second **** offer that was voted no.

In come the national level reps for the union wwe're all think right this is it they'll get us a proper deal sorted as after this one its votes on acrion....3rd deal offered its worse than the first and it came with a letter from the national union rep that was full of lies and scaremongering about how it was the best wed ever get and if we took action we'd all lose out (i worked out in order to lose out if we pushed foe the same as last year over the course of my career wed have to go on strike for over 6 months).

The letter sounded more like it was written by the company than the union, was a disgrace.

But after that from a 80% rejection on the previous offer this last worst of the thre passed by 200 votes just over 50% as all the old fiys were scared.

Canceled my union sub after that.

And same will happen here i vote conservative but if we get ****ed on thier recomendation and they dont fight back for us I'll be voting for indipendants in future out of principle.

I have no problem with somone doing what they genuinly thought best and it being wrong.

Thats fine we're human, but i hate it when clearly some back room action happens and people who should be looking out for otheres do them wrong for personal/back room gain

You just cucked mate nothing new and it is happening in the NHS! :(

Remember, refugees and EU citizens welcome. ;)

Why is Europe crap? Because they force euro 4 5 and 6 engines down our throat and I was forced to blank the nanny state erg valve on my vehicle which serves no purpose but to control my pathetic!! life!!

I'm only joking, sort of...but these silly little rules all mount up. Anyway, if we vote to stay in (heaven forbid, think if your children!) I fully expect Westminster to close as they serve no purpose, just surrender to the one state undemocratic George Orwell dream...

Anyone else seen the comments from the polish minister? Does she not realise we have a free vote against her stupid gloating comments? !

One thing i will say if the referendum is held we vote to stay snd the EU reneg on this "deal" pretty much the only course that could save Cameron's career would be being on tv the next day anouncing a new referendum with his recomendation to leave.

Part of the problem with MEPs voting on the deal is that UKIP's MEPs will vote against it (as they would any deal, no matter how favourable to the UK).

How are we supposed to persuade the MEPs from other countries to vote for it if our own won't?

Silly rules? You do realise that improved engine emission standards have literally saved thousands of lives. And, yes, they mount up; they mount up to a better world to live in.

Seriously? You know they probably realise UKIP are bonkers/the way they vote isn't an assessment of the worthiness of the measure...

Of course UKIP's voting intentions aren't a measure of worthiness - they always vote no - but it's a great excuse for other MEPs not to vote for it.

No, that the English votes basically determines the referendum result for all members of the Union. Should the Welsh,Scots and Irish vote to stay, they can still be out voted by the English.

Thankfully, they will decide. As England is divided. Scotland and NI are massively in favour of staying, so the chances are England will be near 50:50 and Scotland and NI will push us to the right choice.
Although I believe England is still 52% for staying, so still on course for the sensible option.

Because the overriding votes in those countries have voted to remain part of the UK though where applicable.

Scotland lost the independance vote, so westminster still speaks for them. The majority chose for that.

Oh I understand that, I know the mechanics of it. I'm just wondering how different the Scottish referendum would have been had the UK already had the EU referendum and voted to leave.

I expect it would have been almost a full swing to leave uk and stay in EU,

Thats assuming the EU even agreed to keep them in with independance ofcourse.

On the big issues of trade deals.

Everyone talks about non EU countries (Norway, Switzerland, Mexico) having trade deals with the EU, but my understanding is no country outside of the EU has the same deal as those inside.

Even being a member of EEA (like Norway), comes with significant restrictions. Especially in the area of financial services, which are clearly important to our economy. The French and the Germans in particular are fairly envious of the City of London (even with us in the EU), and there's nothing they'd like more than to make life hard in an effort to relocate as much as they can to Paris and Frankfurt.

Secondly, on the subject of UK trade deals with the rest of the world. Assuming we are able to get a good trade deal with the EU post-brexit, I have serious reservation about how liberal they would be about the UK forming other trade deals as we see fit.

If we sign a deal with China/India for example, and we also have a free trade deal with the EU, surely this means the EU ends up with a de facto, backdoor trade deal with China/India it never signed up for.

How does this work?

They've been saying this since the day after the last referendum.

There's a real possibility that Brixit could lead to a chain of events which see the EU break up. I'm not sure where that leaves Scotland.

Nice speech. Any 'remainers' refute what he's saying?

I'm not refuting it as those are all very good points, however i'm sick and tired of our higher minimum wage being touted, as the cost of living is similarly higher.

These migrants aren't coming over here and having the cheaper quality of life they enjoy back home, they pay the same for petrol, bread and cheese that we all do.

I'm also not a steadfast remainer, I have yet to be well convinced by either side.
