All in all about an hour or so looking at my bike. Went to go and pay and he only wanted €7.25! I offered him some extra cash but he wouldn't accept, so big up to

Bimont Cycles Alcudiahttp://www.bimont.com/
Awesome service, drop them some beers off last day? Always nice to get good service, especially if they won't take your money afterwards lol! :D

Good call with the Wiggle-Honda tow, who was riding with them?

Got to the bottom of Formentor, as I hadn't carried out any climbing today thought I'd smash up as much as I could and then onto the bumpy road up to the old fort. Hit 300w for the 18 minutes! Very happy with my power this holiday! View at the top was incredible! Managed 117/3127 on the segment 1s behind David Lopez :D So glad I went up.
Awesome work! Check out my leaderboard - you're above Alex Dowsett! Impressive! ;)

Very jealous Roady!

I think I will have to plan a trip for next year!
Not me, but yeah, really jealous too! So many people on my Strava feed over there at the moment...!

Just a heads-up that PX claim to finally end their pre-stock taking clearance tonight, follow instructions to get 35% off the prices seen in the clearance section eg. ~£1 for an innertube.
Much left worth looking at? There wasn't when I looked a week or two ago... My inner tubes are only a little over that anyway (innertubeshop.com)...!

It may also be enough for people to stick a toe in the water from their £40 jerseys and £60 bibs without it being a step too far in terms of cost.
Exactly, I've looked at the Sky replica shorts they've had on sale before at £75. If these essential/core range are anywhere near the same price I'd probably get a pair instead of the Sky.

Damn cold this morning but looks like a glorious day! My Garmin reported -4.6 and my phone weather app said -3. Although there wasn't much wind I think the windchill was pretty bad as couldn't feel my thumbs again...

I'm looking for a decent but small saddle bag to carry the essentials in. Does anyone have any recommendations?

How much stuff can you fit in there?

You need to decide what you need to carry with you. There's no point looking for a 'small' saddle bag and then finding you want to carry 2 tubes with you and not being able to fit them in (like I did to start with*)!

The Specialized bag is only slightly smaller size to the Topeak Medium I'm using (& costs more!). My topeak has ~1L capacity and that's more than enough for 2 inner tubes along with a huge amount of other stuff (check back a few pages for the comments and a picture ;)). It also has an expansion zip for another 0.3L, I've not used it but if I wanted to carry arm/knee warmers and some food it has that option. The 'loop' on the back is handy to fit a light on with a clip, not many bags have these! There is also smaller version of the Topeak Aero. The Topeak are one of the cheapest and well made (+well regarded!) ranges of saddlebag.

*I did originally start with an Ortleib Micro. Great bag, good clip on/off made it very quick to mount/remove and the roll top (ie no zips) was a nice option. Just not big enough for 2 tubes and tools! You might get 2 tubes in it and a small multitool but nothing else. Felt very waterproof, but I've never had a problem with water in my Topeak the last 18 months... :)

Don't listen to Roady, he takes his entire workshop with him :p

You make a good point about size there!

I usually carry an inner tube, tool, tyre levers, 2xCO2 cannister, CO2 pump, ID and a bit of spare cash. I guess having space for arm warmers could be nice, but I don't mind having those in jersey pockets tbh. I usually take my rain coat in those if it's looking grey out.

Thought I'd go out for a little test of the legs last night:
https://www.strava.com/activities/500686209

I started out incredibly feeble. Riding out of Ripon up through Studley Royal park thing and then up the hill past the gypsies up the back of Fountains Abbey... so very feeble.
But then I perked up a bit for most of the rest of the ride, which was weird.

I seem to be loving being on a bike again, after so long not being on one.
Yay :)

(Was chilly willy though).

I've got a slow puncture on my hybrid which means I need to pump the rear up every ride. This doesn't bother me at all so this is all the justification I need to try latex tubes in the road bike I think :p

I'm not fussed about them being 1s quicker over 10 miles, I'm intrigued by the added comfort and what really got my attention was added puncture protection. I may well wait until I swap tyres though as I'm still considering a swap from 25 to 28mm. I also fancy some new lights as my Moon Comet is flashing for a recharge after less than 45 minutes on medium steady... and I'm meant to be cutting down my cycling spending :o

Met Police sent me a big questionnaire to fill out... basically asking all the same things I spent 2 hours filling out with them in the police station. Quite understandable that a lot of people don't bother to report with all this hassle...

You have a puncture? Why not patch it up? Id be worried about it getting worse mid ride.

I had a look, couldn't see or hear a puncture so that is probably the wrong term. I think it may be a slightly sticky valve or something.

It goes soft over 24 hours but over 5 or so hours I can't detect any pressure drop. I'll get round to sorting it at some point but in the mean time if it goes down mid ride I'll either gas it up to get me home or swap it out at the side of the road..

Know this feeling! Really need to curtail mine so I save up some cash for N+1!

Probably just accumulated fatigue from your long weekend ride! Glad you're enjoying it again - just in time for the better weather to come along! :D

Agreed, I prefer to carry clothing and food in jersey pockets. Having a frame fitted pump/co2 frees up some space also.

I always thought I did but looking at my comparison (a few days ago) with many you all I'm taking extra is a couple of extra tools when I should be carrying a multitool! :p

I'm looking at getting one of these... The chain tool on there is listed as 3/32", anyone know if this is compatible with 11-speed? Other multitools list the speeds...

Also any other recommendations for a <£20 multitool which includes the usual hex/torx and a chain tool? I would like one with pliers & knife but none seem to come with them! :)

Arrrr I see. Have you had it in a bowl of water to detect the air escaping?

Looks like a good one. I rate the Lifeline stuff.

I have this tool: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lezyne-v-5-multi-tool/. Very small + light.
This might be worth a look: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lezyne-v-10-multi-tool/. I notice it has a star bit which would be useful to me as Campy seem to think its a clever idea to use these instead of standard Alan bolts.

Good ride! :D

Exact same with me, during the week commuting I feel OK for short spans but on the weekend my legs just don't get into gear until 30-50 minutes of riding, then I perk up and I'm ready to go.

Think most people have a quick turbo session beforehand to perk them up.

Regarding the PX sale, I grabbed some overshoes (Agu) @ £6.67 each, a cycling cap @ £2, SS merino base layer @£13 and some PX Mitts for the warmer days!

Has anyone done much cycling in the Chilterns here? As I'm based in Maidenhead, it's very close to me, but I've not really explored it too well I'm ashamed to admit. Looking for some new routes to try!

I did a quick route when I visited a friend in Reading. Went up Christmas Common and explored some of the lanes - thoroughly enjoyed it and will be certain to go more often if I end up moving in that direction!

On a similar note went for a bridleway hybrid run up there a few weeks ago but it was a tad too muddy for my bike's capabilities and even my friend's hardtail. Looks like it would be good fun on the bridleways in the summer.

famously, these are very flexy, have you had chance to try it

my cousin had one a few years ago and found it to be so, but he's no lightweight
I rode it in today despite knee complaining. The ride is sublime. I can see what the hype with these is about!

I can see that the larger frames might be a bit flexy. Put a big rider on a big frame and it will. This small one doesn't noticeably flex any more than an ultra thin steel frame. It really soaks up the road buzz though, it's amazingly smooth on the rough roads here.
