Nvidia Users Beware, Latest Drivers May Damage Your PC

Worked for me on my windows 10. I stopped the option to download and install drivers only windows updates auto download.

Windows 10 tech preview doesn't seem to auto update drivers.
Id be carefull, those settings can change with a background update from MS. Have a look at barnacules Video. Shows how even thought you specifiy the settings MS can still change them back. Sneaky and sly!
It kept happening with Windows defender, id turn that off and few days later find its turned it self back on. Quite annoying! I had to manually disable the bugger in the registry!
Are you still using Windows 10? your post seems past tense and the option for that has changed in recent builds and doesn't behave quite like it used to.
I would have to say that that example is a case of USER ERROR
Its pretty obvious if your GPU's fan isn't spinning fast, due to the lack of noise.
or is it just me who is sensitive to noise??

I use avast that turns off windows defender anyway.
Been using window 10 since release not once had it download and install a GPU driver or any driver for that matter. I just disabled the option to auto download and install drivers.
Yea im gina use that to unistall this driver later if I can get past bloody boot. Hopefully stop it downloading future updates. MS are startin to get under my skin.

I totally agree with you. However, it doesnt take long to have a look over the AMD driver forum thread to see why some people come into this thread when something like this happens to "Get their own back".
AMD users have been getting hammered for quite a few years and since i have been actively contributing on these forums there doesnt seem to be a level and fair playing field when people go on a rampant speight of trolling.
If Nvidia users do not like it when it happens then they shouldnt dish it out over in the AMD forum threads....Please dont ask for evidence....it's littered all through every AMD thread on OCUK. You only have to look at the Crimson driver release for that. A very similar issue in fact.
I do hope that no-one has had a card die as that would be gutting. GFX cards cost a small fortune these days and no-one can afford for one to just die because of a driver issue. I wouldnt wish it upon anyone regardless of manufacturer.
If we all want help from these forums then we must clamp down on the trolling from everyone, not just some. I certainly have had enough of it and have been suspended once...so I am not saying I am whiter than white in this matter either.
I hope you all get your drivers rolled back or patched forward (A patch was released very quickly, I believe) before anything serious happens.

I don't care for anyone berating people with issues in truth and I have a massive sense of humor but find people who are happy to see others with issues, regardless of brand quite sad and I have always maintained that no matter what PC you have, I want you to enjoy playing games as much as me and I have no time for those who are happy to see the other brand having problems. My humor is banter and that is all and sure it gets me in trouble lol but it is banter and nothing more. I have seen some true colours of people recently and I am truly stunned that a GPU company has them gripped in this way
I couldn't find a single instance of cards getting fried by this driver. Following the sources of various articles lead in a circle and to instances of bluescreens and corrupt OSes.

Right i finally fixed my issue! It appears i created a issue upon a issue cos turns out IM AN ISSUE!! So when i started boot looping i tried clearing my Cmos not knowing what caused it until i read on what could cause it. I thought well crap what changed in my system recently n all i know is i got a couple of updates and the driver being one.
Anyway cut long story short clearing the Cmos some how corrupted my bios!!! I managed to get this fixed by resorting to my backup bios and flashing the corrupted one. Lost all my overclocks and everything lol. Anyway booted in safe mode and used DDU and then revert back back to the driver i have downloaded from another time 361.75 and now things are back to normal!
Id avoid this new driver 364.47 to be on the safe side.
Panic over for me as i thought i had a dead pc when it wouldn't even get to the bios lol.
