Its obviously there to gate progress to keep fresh content/environments so you have to do the PvE before you can really progress to DZ05/DZ06.

Ultimately once youve hit level 30 those 2 DZs are where youll be spending pretty much all your DZ time - no point in playing DZ01 with NPCs half your level and no doubt DZ05/06 will have the best loot drops...

ps3ud0

But once you hit 30 doesn't the whole DZ scale to your level. Even DZ01 scales up to near your level. Then DZ06 is full of rank 32 elites I believe?

Pretty sure it does (not sure it matches the PvE scaling) - I remember in the beta when you entered the DZ at level 4-7 the enemies were 6/7s; then when you entered at 8/9 the enemies were 8/9. I guess DZ05/06 must be built as they are purely to ensure you only really see and tackle them once youve pretty much done all the PvE - its the everyday carrot when youve done everything else just like challenge mode PvE.

I wonder how the DZ will change once you get expansions and therefore level cap increases - will we get DZ07 etc?

Anyone else not started this yet? Im considering picking this up but all my friends play on Xbox so is anyone else looking to start tomorrow night?

Had some good times last night with Diddums and a few others!

Did the Amerherst Apartment mission, was absolutely nails with all mobs basically at lv14-15 and we were a mix of lv10-12, but we managed to get it done in the end. Lots of times I was the only surviving person, running away from Cleaners shouting **** **** ****!

Be a man and get a PS4. Xbones are for girls. #gamergate

Just realized I didn't make it clear that I have a ps4 and since most people I know are on Xbox I was looking for people on ps4. I see now that's not obvious from what I said haha

Wow. This is the first game that I can think of that crafting is useful right off the bat. Don't have to be fully leveled or reach a certain level for it to become viable

PSN in sig. Once you game with us once or twice you can add the rest of us, there are loads, we're like an infectious disease, but a good one, that makes you laugh and gives you lolsies.

Bear that was great. I tried to leave and rejoin a-la Nightfall but that ballsed it up and I lose all the XP.

Oh well.

Tonight I'll be on for a decent session and I shall bring beer. Lots and lots of beer.

I have found it to be quite useful as a way to "fill the gaps".

I know it may not be the most efficient method etc but quite frankly I just want to enjoy playing the game. Working on perfect loadouts can come once I hit level 30.

Very true. However DZ rank 1-14 at the north most part (DZ06) has NPC’s that are level 25+ I believe. The confusion, at least my confusion, is that why this even exists? A group of 4 level 14’s will never be able to take down such NPC’s.

Rank doesn’t really play a factor (apart from unlocking gear). A level 14 Rank 1 or a level 14 rank 30 still will not be able to take down anything in DZ06?

the DZ rank ONLY exists to gate you off from buying good gear at vendors.

It ensures you only get to buy it once you've put the time in at the dark zone.

It's not used when deciding which instance of the dark zone you see (eg player brakcet level 1-14 is your PVE level) nor is it used to differentiate between DZ01, DZ02, DZ03 etc.. the levels of the PVE mobs in there correlate to your PVE rank also.

But once you hit 30 doesn't the whole DZ scale to your level. Even DZ01 scales up to near your level. Then DZ06 is full of rank 32 elites I believe?

Yes, DZ Brackets are 21-24, then 25-29, then 30.

Obviously at 30 every DZ zone has level 30 or above PVE mobs in. At DZ rank 30 the plan is to have a gear score show for other players instead of rank at level 30 to show who his geared up and who isnt (destiny light level by another name)

Correct, your DZ rank doesn't affect your ability to damage mobs. You can be level 14 DZ rank 30 and still not able to take down level 25 mobs. It seems to be used purely to gate off the vendors stuff for sale. Your DZ level is just Destiny Faction Reputation Level by another name.

I crafted a Scar-L with 400 damage the other day, seems to be holding up quite well, although I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing when it comes to crafting, bought a high end material and thought it meant it'd give me a blueprint it it didn't, I was well disappointed :p

400 damage ? bless you nooblets :D. Just wait until you hit end game. :D

Im still level 17, had a really disappointing night last night, started at 17, rerun a mission on hard, didnt seem to get any xp for it at the end? :( Died a ton during the mission also, do you lose xp when you die? feels like i did.

Then wasted a lot of time in the DZ, ontop of that i kept getting disconnected which was massively frustrating.

I keep trying the matchmaking thing as i dont know many players to group with, the game definitely feels better in a group thats for sure. Sometimes though you can wait ages to get a group match up it seems.

Hopefully tonights a bit better, might just stick to doing side missions til i get to the level of the next main mission then group find that while grinding other bits.

Anyone else hit a bit of a wall?

You get no extra XP for doing it on hard.

Its a waste of time if you want XP. Best source of XP is the side missions. I did a missing person one last night that rewarded 50k XP. Makes the XP from some of the encounters look pitiful.
