Doom - PS4 / Xbox One

Played for an hour just now, it's fun! Reminds me of Q3A and UT3, fast paced and fun, the rocket launcher alt fire is fun, a bit like shock rifle combos. Itsy shame I doubt it'll have much of an online following after the initial excitement

I tried it for a round and it's OK. Not very sophisticated and I would get bored quite quickly I think. Runs really nicely and I do have to remember that it's only one map and still alpha - so there is promise. I'll keep an eye on it definitely. Nothing MP is really grabbing me after Destiny. Need to get in to Halo 5 but Fallout is taking up all of my time.

Played a few rounds yesterday, I loved it but then I'm a Doom fanboy - Really chilled out easy-to-play fun as opposed to CoD where I just don't stand a chance these days!

I've got a PS4 key for this spare if anyone wants it. I won't get a chance to give it a go myself so I'd rather give it to someone who will.

Are the servers working yet and can you just use the previous client?

ps3ud0

Yes and yes - there is a patch to update it to the latest version but I still had the previous client installed and it updated the other night.

I've been invited to the closed beta, having participated in the alpha. I really enjoyed it and will be trying this over the weekend.

Interestingly I received an email from Sony talking about sharing 'epic' moments. What's the deal? I thought most closed betas etc were subject to non disclosure type of clauses.

Do you need ps+ to play the beta? I know it's online only, but not all betas need it.

I bought wolfenstein that came with beta access a long time back, but I've not got ps+ at the moment, and the beta is not enough of a reason to renew.

They must be confident of the games quality :)
