Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Took some potato quality pictures after doing the first proper polish and wax of the year. Girlfriends 1L Revo Ecoboost and a not very flattering angle of my MR230. Need to take some proper pictures...on the proper camera...Fitted my symposer back in after having a delete in for a bit.

Collinite Marque d'elegance is such a nice wax. SRP and this wax should suffice until i can get my hands on a DAS 6.

That black ST looks fantastic, well done.

And I think 4 exhausts on a hatchback looks ridiculous.

My golf R looks stupid with its 4 exhausts (the kid inside me loves the sound though.... :o) so I can only imagine how daft the Fiesta would look with 4..

On a side note I do still miss my ST.

I am in love with mine :D Counting down the minutes until I can drive home from work!

Haven't had this feeling with a car since I started driving, and I have had lots and lots of cars

Evening! Had the ST for about a month now and its been great!

One little niggle though. I've noticed that there seems to be a small amount of light vibration up through the pedals/floor at most speeds and on all surfaces. Nothing much and doesn't feel like a wheel balance issue as the steering wheel is fine. If I rev the car when stationery its also vibrates slightly.

Anyone else have this? If its normal then I will ignore it but if its not then a trip to the dealers may be in order!

Still massively tempted by one of these, thinking of selling my DC5 next year and hopefully by then should be easy enough to pick up for under 10k. Anyone able to give a bit of an insight into long term ownership? Any issues / niggles?

Back to the dealer it is.

Mine also makes some strange whirring noises that come and go.

That will be the car letting off pressure at low speeds.

Not sure it would ever replace a DC5. You will be disappointed with the lack of LSD but that can be rectified. I'd personally keep the DC5. :p

Saying that though, i love mine. Stage 2 has only made it better.

The only issues i've had with mine are the rattles of the door cards. Which i have been meaning to get to the bottom of for ages.

I just kinda feel I've done the whole Honda thing, had a DC2, ATR S2K and now the DC5. For the sort of driving a do 90% of the time the DC5 is probably a bit wasted plus as an a to b car its starting to irritate my slightly, I guess the mods I have don't really help but cant see myself returning it to stock. Don't get me wrong, on a great road I don't think there is much that would touch it for the money and its awesome fun I just really fancy a change.

Plan to keep it another 6 months to a year and hopefully sell it for near enough what I paid. Stage 2 would definitely be on the cards if I got the ST. I've test driving a couple now and I just really liked them.

The Focus ST is also in the running as well as a GTI / R but not sure if I'm willing to pay the premium.

It does make some funky noises at low speeds with low throttle. I read it is normal and just the turbo system exhausting air.

The pedal vibration thing you are experiencing doesn't sound normal though.

The only niggle I have with mine is the smoothness of the gear change in the lower gears. Seems clunkyish to me but Ford have repeatedly said it is normal so just living with it :p

The aircon does cause slight a whining noise. They all do it. The turbo and air intake are also quite loud, especially after tuning.

As for the gear change, you can make it better with the quickshifter and roll restrictor. Those are some of the must have mods tbh, they make a huge difference :)

Booked in to the dealers on Monday with a long list of niggles:

Vibration through pedals and steering. More of a buzzing than a wobble
Grinding/crunching feeling through the steering at low speed
Grinding feeling through the steering wheel moving very slowly in traffic
Knock from suspension over bumps
Grinding brakes (think this one is normal though)
Tappy engine but again think this is normal

Not too happy to be honest, it's a brand new car. Doesn't feel it to drive it, feels likes it's been abused! :(

You may end up with the same niggles as the DC5 when you go stage 2. :p

I love mine to bits and will be keeping it for the long haul and eventually turning it into a track car.

This is rectified with a roll restrictor. Easiest part to fit ever. Literally 10 minutes. :)

Hmmmm that's odd. Can't say i have vibration through steering, is it when you're going along or when stationary?

Might be worth taking another one out and showing the dealer?

On a separate note i think i need to get some spacers. I love the OEM wheels but they just need a better offset. H&R do some nice 15mm spacers. Just a bit expensive for a slab of metal and bolts...

My wife currently is driving a 10 plate Fiesta 1.6 titanium and we are thinking of changing it for something newer and the local dealer has some 14 and 15 plate Fiesta ST's in stock.

I'm interested to know your thoughts on changing from the old Fiesta to a ST and how much better it would be to drive? My wife only does local mileage so it would be a weekend car for us both.

Also interested to know how much her old Fiesta 1.6 titanium would be trade in value and also private sale? It has 28k on the clock, factory fitted body kit and keyless entry also.

Take one for a drive. When I test drove one back in 2013 i had a 1.6 Fiesta Metal at the time. It was a night and day difference and took me 100 yards up the road for me to want one. I had an extended test drive and loved every second of it. I then waited for the ST3 to be released and that's what I've been driving since 2014. It's not stage 2 with the Mountune MR230 package and 2 years later and I'm not bored of it yet.

The ride is harder, the car is much faster and it's a lot more fun.

May get around 6k trade on the Titanium i'd expect?

Yeah its strange. Seems to only be when moving along. If I rest my foot on the brake pedal very lightly I can feel a buzzing vibration through there as well. There is also a light grinding sound, almost like a tyre noise, that I can hear from 10-60mph. Also get a similar noise when making sharp turns at lows speeds below 25mph.

Wonder if it is all linked?
