(Wales Velothon which looks like it is going to be 14 degrees with showers!). Over lunch have narrowed it down to these two:-

https://www.evanscycles.com/endura-fs260-pro-adrenaline-race-cape-EV168770

Has anyone had experience with either of these or has any other recommendations? I am edging towards the Endura but want to check before I dive in. Ta

Hot Pack looks very similar to the Castelli Squadra for loads more pennies (pay for next day delivery & still cheaper)!? Although it might be more breathable fabric? This would certainly be more breathable.

The Squadra is good in showers and being thin doesn't get that toasty, has a few vents too, but I wouldn't wear it long-term as it would get 'boil in the bag'. For prolonged rain a more solid multi layer light jacket is best, it won't create condensation so you don't get as boil in the bag, better protection, but you do run the risk of it actually being quite warm if it's not got enough vents. I rate my DHB EQ2.5 as it has vents all around the torso and large underarm zips you can also open. Although I only tend to use it in heavy rain as temperatures much over 12 degrees it is warm. This Flashlight version is high viz (which was a requirement of mine) and seems more of a racier fit with similar features.

If it was me I'd have waterproof arm warmers and a windproof/waterproof gilet, just putting up with wet shoulders as I then wouldn't overheat. Keeping my feet/arse dry are more important to me as I generate lots of heat from my torso which dries out much of my upper body quite quickly. Overshoes! Overshoes! Overshoes!

Helmets. Kask.

Anyone got a Mojito and Vertigo (after differences?) or the Infinity and Protone? Or any general experiences really.

I think I want an Infinity so I can shut the vent in winter/rain, but I think most of the others have optional aero covers?

Although I could exchange my current Echelon II for an Evade as Specialized are doing their trade in...

I've got one and they are great, however, I didn't think about where I'd store it when I bought it! Its massive and won't fit through the hatch into my loft...so it just lives in the spare room! D'oh!

Evoc Bike Bag is brilliant as it goes under the spare bed.

Thanks for the input Roady. I do think I am looking for the impossible (well within my budget). I am currently sitting at around 86kg so I generate a shed load of warmth and really want to avoid the boil in the bag feeling! I have thought about the gilet/arm warmers option but got a bit lost in the options. Any recommendations?

I have some neoprene overshoes which whilst extremely difficult to get on to a decent job of keeping the water off. I may have lost these those so do need to check!

I've not hit heavy rain in my Castelli Nanoflex yet, but if they're similar to the Sportful NoRain (should be) then they're adequate for arms/legs and come well recommended.

Gilets are a more tricky thing, Castelli Sottile is similar to the Squadra just without arms. The Velo is good too (nearly bought one) and more of a jacket without arms without being quite as good (or as expensive) as the Fawsome.
Why would you wear it in the shower? :?
Marginal gains when showering.

@ Lethal

I've used it 3-4 times at 3-4 hours a go without needing to charge it. So say 9 hours minimum. I need to give it a proper test I guess to see exactly how long mine lasts without charging inbetween.

Yea thats the climbing shoes, i got them last year in the sale, had first ride at the weekend, pretty comfy, so stiff! the vents must work well because i couldnt feel my toes after 13 miles:D need toe covers at 10c

Any idea how they compare in stiffness to the Sidi Ergo soles? I'm finally in need of a replacement pair and like the look of the Rapha shoes; though I think I'm going to get the GT.

Ive got both and prefer the fit of the Mojito, the Vertigo is still great but feels a bit bulkier. Both are really nice tho

Funnily enough I have the same dilemma. Negligible weight difference (not that this would sway me over the fit & best protection).

I know Maxeh just got the Mojito. My first helmet was a Specialised Propero after trying his which fitted well so I expect I'll also end up with the Mojito but will order both and return the lesser, would probably suggest you do the same.

Mojito? Vertigo?

Protone!

Not actually sure how they compare bit coming from Louis Garnoux sp? They are incredibly stiff. I didn't actually notice my feet bending the shoe before but after using these I can feel them not bending if that makes sense.

My problem is my sizing... I'm at the top end of large because my bonce is full of brains. Have to buy 'headwear' in suitable sizes around 59-62cm! :o

'One size fits all' cycling caps are usually touch and go, some I can't even get on my head!
