** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

Wow GP106 have 256 bit bus, about 4 TFLOPS and bus powered! That faster than GTX 970 and probably 75W TDP.

Look like GP108 will finally have 128 bit bus, about 2 TFLOPs, faster than GTX 950 and closer to GTX 960 performance on very tiny chip measured 87mm2 if it will still use same size as GK208 and GM108 while consume around 33W TDP or bigger chip around 100mm2 with less than 50W TDP.

GP108 could be AMD worst nightmare If GP108 can overclocked to achieve GTX 970 level performance to play VR without issues.

Are you on what Flopper takes??:p

I leaked the GP106 die picture earlier in the thread. It is a 200MM2 GPU,so around 60% of a GTX1080 so probably around GTX970 level.

Polaris 10 is 232MM2 on a denser process, and looks like it might be a tad faster going from the R9 390X level performance rumours for the 2304 shader SKU(Polaris 10 is rumoured to have 2516 shaders).

Polaris 11 is meant to be a tiny GPU,with at least GTX950 level performance - probably more R9 380 level which is generally a bit faster than a GTX960.

OK,I decided to punch the numbers so you seem mostly correct now.

In fact at 4K the GTX1080 can sometimes edge out the GTX980TI - The Division and the AOTS by a decent amount.

Although in FarCry:Primeval and BF4 it is the other way around.

Game 1 - Fallout 4

1080P overclocked,GTX1080 is 14% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI.

4k overclocked,GTX1080 is 15% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI

GTAV

1080P overclocked,GTX1080 is 15% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI.

4k overclocked,GTX1080 is 14 % faster than an overclocked GTX980TI

Shadow of Mordor

1080P overclocked,GTX1080 is 25% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI.

4k overclocked,GTX1080 is 21% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI

Far Cry Primal

1080P overclocked,GTX1080 is 26% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI.

4k overclocked,GTX1080 is 18% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI

Battlefield 4

1080P overclocked,GTX1080 is 30% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI.

4k overclocked,GTX1080 is 26% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

1080P overclocked,GTX1080 is 21% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI.

4k overclocked,GTX1080 is 24% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI

Hitman (2016)

1080P overclocked,GTX1080 is 29% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI.

4k overclocked,GTX1080 is 28% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI

Tom Clancy's The Division

1080P overclocked,GTX1080 is 11% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI.

4k overclocked,GTX1080 is 20% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI

Ashes of the Singularity

1080P overclocked,GTX1080 is 27% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI.

4k overclocked,GTX1080 is 32% faster than an overclocked GTX980TI

So an average of 9 games,an overclocked GTX1080 is 22% faster at 1080P than an overclocked GTX980TI.

So an average of 9 games,an overclocked GTX1080 is 22% faster at 1080P than an overclocked GTX980TI.

Not much in it - teaches me to skim benchmarks!! :p

Good job :) looks like an average of +25%

Do you think 2x Overclocked 1080's would allow +60fps at 4K at ultra in games that scale well in SLI?

I'm running 2 980 Tis @ 1440 MHz.

In 2016 games I reach 60 FPS at 4K with 2 to 4 settings below Ultra.

I'd say that with 2 aftermarket overclocked 1080s you should be able to keep 60 FPS minimum.

That's why I'll buy 2 aftermarket 1080s.

No FE ******** edition for me :)

So is it a rumour re pre orders at OC ? or are they up shortly

Thinking about it has there been an example in the past of orders showing up a week before the official release? Pretty sure its always been release day, though its also a bit unusual to get reviews a week plus in advance of being able to order it.

Generally its reviews and orders being available on the same day, though its all been staggered out probably to get more stock available.

I have just seen £515 ex VAT (Ex means excluding)

And as well all know, VAT is 20% (yes, . . .it's 20% sir!)

So by my almighty reckoning . . i believe that to be £618.

A mighty price indeed!

Glad that's sorted
