Health, and then whatever scales best with your weapons.

Health is pretty important though imo, as there's nothing more annoying than getting one shot.

Also endurance. Nothing better in a strength build than the ability to chain hits and effectively stunlock enemies to death.

That carried me through NG+ and NG++ with barely a bead of sweat broken.

Honestly it doesn't matter, if you were really good at not getting hit you could focus more on str+end. Just don't worry about choosing the 'wrong' options as there isn't one and you can always change on NG+ or start again if you feel you messed up.

Managed to play it for about half hour today, busy man atm :(
But anyway managed to kill first monster after i died about 10 times. Realised i got free weapons in that sanctuary place and then i killed all the monsters till i got to the second lamp up the stairs in central yah something.
My questions are:
1. When you access a lamp does it automatically save or have you got to use it to go to the sactuary place. Not quite understanding it, as theres no little save icon poppping up like you get in other games.
2. How do you level your character up i got 2000 odd blood things from killing enemies but i can only seem to spend them in the sancturay place on health vials and pebbles?
3. L1 transformed my cleaver into a longer one, surely thats better?

Cruised through NG++ and I'm just about to get the third ending (strangely enough the first ending for most people) but I am really struggling on Lawrence in the DLC. I can get him down to his final phase almost every time but that lava just makes it so hard to see what hes doing and I get trapped and die.

I only need the ending and Lawrence to give me the platinum. So close!

3. L1 transformed my cleaver into a longer one, surely thats better? - Alternate weapons can indeed be better, such as Ludwigs blade, but they're also much slower and take more stamina to swing

When you encounter the first boss you get 1 insight, when you go to the Hunters Dream (touch the torch) the doll will be alive.

I beat the DLC final boss yesterday and boy that was fun.
I genuinely didn't find it as hard as a lot of people said, I co-oped but I ended up doing most of the work

It's just a bit of a frantic battle, with the boss jumping all over the place. The camera angle is the worst bit of the fight imo.

True that

The weirdest thing about the battle was that he didn't transform till he had less than a quarter health left.

I was wailing on him everytime he went to transform and prevented him
He's fun to stagger

Any boss in these games is massively easier with help even if you do most of the damage. Just having someone else to take the heat at various points makes all the difference. Try doing the final boss in the DLC solo and then tell us how easy he was. Took me a lot of tries until I finally killed him but it was pretty satisfying when I did.

Still haven't managed to kill Lawrence though. I just need to kill him and then submit to Gehrman and I will have the platinum. Really struggling against Lawrence though. NG++ has been fine for the most part but he is just nails once he transforms/

I agree here, I have never summoned help for a boss (NPC or human) but I've seen people do it on streams and in every instance I saw it changed the fight. Ludwig was the most noticeable, he consistently punishes bad heals but this guy I seen had time to do whatever he wanted because he had an NPC taking all the aggro. There's nothing wrong with summoning at all by the way, I just don't think you can accurately assess how difficult a boss was if you've done it though.

Laurence was probably the toughest boss in the entire game for me, ironically though I found his first phase much more difficult than his second. I found him very unpredictable but he's a little easier to read in his second phase, the problem with the fight for me personally is the massive amount of health he has and how hard he hits. You have to play so solid for so long and more often than not, 1 mistake ends up in death.

So this game is 50% off on PS store at the moment. Is this game hard like Dark Souls? Do enemies respawn when you save progress like the other games? The difficulty and constant respawning it what put me off the others.

its by the same dev as the souls series and does share similarities, tough but fair imo! Yep if you die your experiance is left where you died so you need to then make it back there to retrieve them etc

My favourite game of the last year and definitly ps4s best exclusive imo but i admit it isnt for everyone. Many find it harder than souls

It was my first souls game and it's close to being the best game I've ever played.
Get it.
